@blazeraleigh  click on the link above and post there where others have let Fitbit know they are not happy with the change.

I can’t access all the meal shortcuts I made and now I have given up on counting calories and journaling. I am very sad and frustrated after all the work I put into this. I feel like I want to get rid of my Fitbit and turn to something else. I’m angry.

I totally agree.  I am a graphic designer and so I'm on my computer a lot.  It is so much more convenient for me to log my food intake.  Also, the demographic is getting older and not younger and so having the large print and keyboard is actually more ADA Compliant.  BRING BACK THE BROWSER DASHBOARD!!!!

@HillaryL you are on the board for obtaining help from your fellow Fitbit Users. Feedback belongs in Product Feedback.

You may want to leave Feedback in Maintain Fitbit web dashboard going forward

Best Answer

HillaryL, I agree wholeheartedly.  I was on another string and was observing the same feedback from many FitBit users. Since the announcement in July, there was easily 25/30 comments/complaints/suggestions per day.   Rather than taking the feedback, FitBit recently shut down the discussion?

When is Fitbit going to revive the website control panel?
I do not use a mobile device?

Sorry @Coutin-Eliyahu but Google will not be bringing the web based dashboard back.

It hasn't been updated in 8+ years and lacked every new feature. I would be tempted to move this thread to the Web forum, but the Web forum has been removed.

Just a suggestion.

If you don't have a phone, it shouldn't be to hard to get an older phone from someone, and connect through your homes WiFi..

How many users are implementing an Android emulator on their desktop to run the FitBit software instead?

There are a good number of emulators for Windows, Apple and also Linux. One is called 'Anbox' and another is called Droid4X, Also there is an emulator for Chrome browsers that run on any platform, it is called 'Archon'.

Who has tried running FitBit on any of these systems?

Best Answer

This will be my last Fitbit, and I have been using a fitbit for years. I need to view my dashboard on my computer, not phone.

@parkca  actually there was advance notice, but the link to the article I posted above no longer works. July 8, 2024 is when the web dashboard was completely removed. It was diminished over time, as @Rich_Laue posted.

Bull crap. I looked at the Dashboard every day. I read my email every
day. I never was asked my opinion on removing the Dashboard and I received
no advance notice it was being removed.

I have not changed my email in over 15 yrs, so I doubt I was the only one
overlooked for an opinion or notification.

So just over 6 months and the link to the notice no longer works. Really.
How convenient.

Thanks for the message. The Dashboard was gone overnight, not 'diminished'
as you would say.

@parkcaI sincerely doubt most companies ask customers before they change what features are available. It's actually on this website that they can change things as needed - click to read more about the Terms of Service. Although my post was July 2024, the actual post telling about the change was months previous to that. Fitbit told us this was happening, just as they also told us our accounts would need to transition to a Google account well before it was actually required.

Yes the statement there about telling users - that is not consulting with...!

Best Answer

@Ken664 I'm  believe that there are only a few companies that consult with their customers.

Fitbit does have a Product Feedback Board, (yes we have had suggestions that make it into the product)

There is even a thread on this subject

It doesn’t let me view that page. How can I now view my dashboard? I need to delete a Fitbit account that has been added to my account and is preventing me from moving my Fitbit account across to Google.

--------

I knew Fitbit being taken over by Google was going to be a bad thing!! Typical that users are being ignored.. I can’t even migrate my Fitbit account to Google so i’ll lose all my data when they stop supporting the old accounts.

Time to move to another service I guess. Shame as Fitbit was so good in its old guise.

I have a Chromebook so I can run the Android version on my laptop.  The Bluetooth doesn't work but if I sync my watch to the Fitbit servers, I can sync my laptop to them.  It's not bad.
