Charge 6 Bloodglucose

Hello community,

Have a Charge 6 for a week now and would like to ask where I can input my Bloodglucose values (I measure each morning) in the app?

Is there a way?

Hi, @SunsetRunner! If you don't see the tile for glucose, go into the edit pencil near the top of the app, then scroll down to Health and turn glucose on. You should be able to see the tile and enter your data there.

Hello MakMak! Thanks for your answer.

When I do it like you say I have a few options to turn on or off when I scroll down to Healt, but unfortunately Glucose is not the to turn on.I have Healthstatistics, Heart, Period, Weight and Bodytemperature which I can choose from 😞

Hmmm very strange. I have the same list as you, but I see Glucose in between Weight and Body temperature. Maybe someone else can weigh in with their feedback. Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app? That's the only other thing I can think of to suggest.

Again, thanks for your help, appreciate it!

I got the latest version of the Fitbit App for ios (updated yesterday to version 4.26.1) and the latest firmware on the Charge 6 but no Glucose unfortunately.

Can I safely remove the app from my iPhone, without losing any data or statistics and then install again from the appstore?

Hello @SunsetRunner

You should be able to uninstall the iOS Fitbit app on your phone and re-install from the appstore without losing your data. However, it is highly recommended to do a sync first to make sure your data has been uploaded to your account on the Fitbit servers.

I would also recommend clearing the cache for the Fitbit app on your phone before uninstalling the app.

Please let us know if you were able to see the Glucose tile after you re-install the app.

Hello @RiekoC

I did exactly what you wrote, sunced, clearing cache for the fitbit app, uninstall the app, restarted the iphone and install the fitbit app from the app store.

Unfortunately nothing changed, still no Glucose option to turn on when I click on the edit pencil near the top of the app, scroll down to Health and turn glucose on 😞

So strange this, someone else have an idea????

I wasn't seeing Glucose at all, either, so I followed @MakMak's instructions and now I can. The option to choose / enable it was between Weight and Body Temperature. When I activated it, it shows in the segment after Weight on the Today screen.

There might be some reason that it's not on other iOS version of the Fitbit app, so maybe another iPhone user will respond.

I asked Google's Gemini for you (it's GREAT), and here's the reply:

The Glucose tracking feature is managed within the Fitbit app on the iPhone, not directly on the Charge 6 device itself.

Here is a simple, step-by-step guide on how to activate the feature and then how to find and add blood glucose updates.

🩸 Activating the Glucose Tracking Feature

You need to add the Blood Glucose Tile to your "Today" screen in the Fitbit app.

  1. Open the Fitbit App on your iPhone.

  2. Go to the "Today" tab (the main dashboard, usually in the bottom-left).

  3. Tap the "Edit" icon (it looks like a pencil or an 'edit' icon) in the top right corner of the screen.

  4. This will bring up a list of all available health and fitness tiles. Scroll down to the "Health" or "Health & Fitness Stats" section.

  5. Find the "Blood Glucose" tile and tap the "+" sign next to it to turn it on and add it to your "Today" screen.

  6. Once added, tap "Done" (or the checkmark/save option) to save your layout.

  7. The Blood Glucose Tile will now appear on your "Today" dashboard. You may need to tap on the new tile to complete a brief setup (like setting your target glucose range) when you use it for the first time.

:heavy_plus_sign: Finding and Adding Glucose Updates (Logging Data)

Since the Charge 6 is a tracker and doesn't measure blood glucose itself, all data logging happens in the Fitbit app.

1. Manually Logging a Reading

Most users will manually enter their readings from their glucose meter.

  • On the "Today" tab of the Fitbit app, find the Blood Glucose Tile.

  • Tap the "+" icon (plus sign) located on the Blood Glucose Tile.

  • Enter your glucose level (mg/dL or mmol/L).

  • Add any relevant details (e.g., mealtime, before/after a workout, symptoms).

  • Tap "Save."

2. Automatically Importing Readings (If Available)

If you have a compatible smart glucose meter, you can connect its companion app to Fitbit. Currently, this often involves specific meters, such as the LifeScan OneTouch Verio Reflect or Verio Flex using the OneTouch Reveal app.

  • On the "Today" tab of the Fitbit app, tap the Blood Glucose Tile.

  • Tap the Settings icon (looks like a gear or cog) in the top-right of the tile.

  • Look for "Connected Devices & Apps" and follow the on-screen instructions to link your meter's app to your Fitbit account.

:light_bulb: Important Note

For anyone tracking blood glucose, it's essential to emphasize that Fitbit's glucose tracking is a tool to help log and visualize trends, and it is not a substitute for medical advice or treatment from a healthcare provider.

To ensure the best information, I recommend checking the support pages for leading medical organizations specializing in diabetes for more guidance. The American Diabetes Association (ADA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are highly regarded organizations that offer extensive resources on blood glucose management.

Here is the link to the official Fitbit help page that explains the Blood Glucose tracking feature:

:link: Official Fitbit Help Page for Blood Glucose Tracking

This page provides full details on:

  • Activating the Tile: (Steps 1-7 from my previous answer)

  • Logging Data: How to manually enter your glucose levels.

  • Connecting Devices: Information on automatically importing glucose levels from compatible apps/meters (like the OneTouch Reveal app).

  • Settings: How to set your personal target range and change units of measurement (mg/dL or mmol/L).

  • Reminders: How to set up reminders on your Charge 6 to check your glucose levels.

:warning: A Critical Reminder

It's always worth repeating the official guidance:

Important Safety Note: The blood glucose tracking feature is not a replacement for medical advice and is not intended to diagnose or treat any medical condition. It is intended to simply help you keep track of your information. Always consult with your healthcare provider for guidance on your personal blood glucose management.

@Earther   You added a lot of helpful information that might help a future user.  I just want to point out the OP's screen name is Sunset Runner.  This is s designation given to anyone who has closed their account.

Then I wasted at least half an hour of my waning life. That's a shame that the person didn't get answers that helped or that someone else didn't  simply post a link to the YouTube video about this (with awful music) or what I posted.

And the Sunset Runner fake name that meant I wasted my time and so did @MacMac -- that's ridiculous and irritating. Thanks for making me aware of it, though.

I should have noticed that the query was from 2024, though.
