As of around a few weeks ago, my Charge 6 stopped tracking mileage EXCEPT for when I either manually start a tracked activity, or the device automatically detects and starts a tracked activity on its own. Before this, my daily mileage seemed to automatically calculate where it now reads 0mi per day. My steps and calories burned are being tracked, but not mileage. My device is synced to an iPhone. How can I fix this?

Hello @GabrielleM34
There is currently a known bug for several Fitbit devices that impacts distance tracking. The team is aware of the issue and are working on a fix.
One user doing troubleshooting discovered that they saw distance tracking when they disabled automatic stride length and manually set their stride length in the Fitbit app. If you want to try this workaround, this page has the instructions on how to manually set your stride length (<-- click link).
Although this workaround has worked for many users, some users have reported that it didn't work for them.

I can confirm the problem. The last day my charge 6 showed somewhat accurate distance was August 1st. As of August 2nd, the millage was reduced to only that which was logged via an exercise... that is, if I did a 5 mile walk (tracked via GPS through the 'walk' exercise), it only showed 5 miles total for the day even through I had over 20,000 steps total for the day. After some checking around, I noticed that my stride length had been reset to '--' (ie: zero) using the automatic setting. I know for a fact that previously, the automatic setting had somewhat properly calculated my stride length, so it was a bit perplexing as to why it would suddenly just go away. The temporary workaround is to disable the automatic setting and manually put in your stride length. Doing so made the total daily distance start working again.
Another question that I would like to know is why, if you do an exercise like walking with GPS enabled, doesn't it use the stride length from that to calculate non-exercise step stride length? Walking as an exercise isn't much different than just normal walking around the home/work. Seems like it would be kind of trivial to implement rather than just basing it on gender and height, which is what I believe the automatic setting takes its cue from.
