Charge 6 Stopped Syncing

My Charge 6 stopped syncing this morning.  It has always synced just fine and I had no problems until this morning.  (As a note, I do not keep my Bluetooth on all the time.  I usually turn it on and sync about three times a day.)  I always sync first thing in the morning, and it just would not sync this morning.  I went through all the troubleshooting steps multiple times, and still it would not sync.  Finally decided to uninstall and reinstall the Fitbit app (which I really didn't want to do, knowing it would require re-pairing).  To no great surprise, after reinstalling, it now won't pair either.  When trying to get it to pair after the reinstall, it continues to give the same message: "There was an error while trying to bluetooth pair your device.  Would you like to try again?"
I contacted support via chat, and the rep said that it's a known issue that the app is having difficulties with syncing data, etc. right now, and that they are working on it.  But I feel like if it was really a widespread issue and no one could sync/pair today, then this forum would already have a lot more people complaining that they can't sync and the Fitbit Reddit sub would be blowing up as well.  So I don't know what to think.  Is anyone else having issues syncing today?
For reference, I have an Android phone... not sure if that matters.

OMG I have exactly the same issue since today ... charge 6 and android.

I whish I read this post 5 min sooner as I just removed the app in an attempt to fix the issue.  I removed the device itself already before from the app as well and cannot get it to pair again since then.  The device shows up under possible new bluetooth devices to link to but the pairing itself fails in the app with that error message.

Pfffff. What a waist of my time.

I'm having the same not syncing problem for 3 days now.

Exactly same issue.  Wasn’t syncing thought it was just me.  Uninstalled, reinstalled, no change.  Removed device now can’t pair the device at all.

FYI. Just reinstalled the app and I was able to pair again and sync.  Although it somehow refuses to sync my sleep info.  But at least it is paired again.

Same issues as you. Only just come across this forum. Is the forum watched by fitbit? Do you expect them to supply an answer?

@JeffreyGriffReading other threads, I see that Fitbit mods do reply sometimes and either try to assist or at least confirm that there is some sort of issue on Fitbit's end, so I was hoping they would do that here.

Yes I am, was told to wait a couple of days and then try again.

Hello @Ghost78 , @JeffreyGriff , @sedas , @AndyKB , @RobinHoodRiver

I'm seeing other users reporting syncing issues that seem to have started in the last couple of days. There doesn't seem to be any service disruptions according to the Fitbit Status Dashboard.

I've put in an inquiry about the problem and will report back if I get any updates.

Good to know I have an Android phone that I am trying to pair it with, wondered if it's an issue with the latest app update or even the android update that was last week for me too.  It is annoying though.

Yes, I am having the same issue. I've had issues similar to this ever since Google took over the ecosystem, and they've just closed reports without even resolving them. I wouldn't assume that there's no widespread issue just because not many people are posting about it -- many of us have been reporting this stuff & stopped bothering because the customer support feels practically non-existent. I was a big fan of Fitbit before the acquisition, but deeply regret trusting that the merger would not turn the software upside-down.

Still unable to re-pair/sync as of 6:45 CST.  I will keep trying and will update if/when successful.  I did contact Google via chat again because I'm not letting them forget that there's a problem, especially now that I know that it's not just me and that many others are having issues syncing/pairing as well.

Same issue here, I can't re-pair my Charge 6 now after resetting it. My wife is also having problems with her Charge 5 syncing. Text/call notifications were also not working.

As of last night, my Android Fitbit ap quit syncing.  I tried to resync and my Android phone just won't recognize the Fitbit ap.  The AP is sending me a message that my Bluetooth is not on (It's on all the time).  I can't get any sort of help anywhere as Fitbit does a great job not helping their customers.  Instead, all we get are directions to reams and reams of instructions that don't work.  If they have an outage, at least send everyone of their subscribers a note.

Yes! Same issue after latest update to my Galaxy tablet. Wouldn't sync, did all the troubleshooting, and now won't pair.  I moved the app to my phone, and it paired fine. Still, I want the app on my tablet, not my phone.  Hope they figure it out soon!

I have the same issue started yesterday morning after an update that occurred at12.15am yesterday.

Same problem this morning, preceded by brief appearance of yesterday's data on Today page. Maybe it was just good luck, but it resolved after simultaneous restart of phone and device. I am far from claiming that it does the trick, but definitely worth trying.

P.S. if it helps, my app version is 4.28(110133238) running on Android 13, latest firmware (from September) on device.

I tried pairing on another phone of mine and it worked fine. However, I want my Charge paired on my primary phone for notifications. This is frustrating. At the very least, I would like the error messages in the app to be more descriptive.

I had the same thing happen and came here.  So frustrating!
