My Charge 6 stopped syncing this morning. It has always synced just fine and I had no problems until this morning. (As a note, I do not keep my Bluetooth on all the time. I usually turn it on and sync about three times a day.) I always sync first thing in the morning, and it just would not sync this morning. I went through all the troubleshooting steps multiple times, and still it would not sync. Finally decided to uninstall and reinstall the Fitbit app (which I really didn't want to do, knowing it would require re-pairing). To no great surprise, after reinstalling, it now won't pair either. When trying to get it to pair after the reinstall, it continues to give the same message: "There was an error while trying to bluetooth pair your device. Would you like to try again?"
I contacted support via chat, and the rep said that it's a known issue that the app is having difficulties with syncing data, etc. right now, and that they are working on it. But I feel like if it was really a widespread issue and no one could sync/pair today, then this forum would already have a lot more people complaining that they can't sync and the Fitbit Reddit sub would be blowing up as well. So I don't know what to think. Is anyone else having issues syncing today?
For reference, I have an Android phone... not sure if that matters.
Well, well, got a fitbit update today and downloaded it and my charge 6 actually paired and synced up today. My wifes charge 4 also. Somebody at fitbit must have finally pulled their heads out of their backside and came up with a solution. Way beyond about time.
Mine is working now. It took a little time to update after it paired, but it did finally do it.
working for me too

Hi everybody ! Thank you for your updates and info .
I'm glad to read that the new app release helped with the syncing and pairing issue.
For those who are still having issues, please make sure that you have the latest app version installed.
Turn your phone off and on again.
Try to set up the Fitbit as a new device.

I have had the same issues since a while (see my initial replies) and what I noticed is that every time I reinstalled the app, the sync worked again for a couple of days and then it stopped working again.
Now I just reinstalled it again - so removed the app first and then looked it up in the play store and reinstalled. Sync works again.
But I looked at the app details and it says '4.28.1.fitbit-mobile-110133271'. So I am wondering now whether the latest version is actually available for me to download ?

@gdio53 @RiekoC Thank you for your help .
@sedas , Nice to see you around. Thank you for your message and info.
As mentioned by @gdio53 the Fitbit app updates are released in stages, independently from your location. Meaning 2 users in the same household might get the updates available within a few days of difference.
In you case, I would ask you a bit of patience. Wait a few days or keep checking the play store for the updates every now and then.
Keep in mind that your Fitbit will contain the data from the last 7 days as a whole or the one from the last 30 days as a summary. This if you haven't restarted or deleted the info from the Fitbit.
Restarts might delete the info too.

Best Answer@sedas I'm the OP, and I had been putting off updating. I was one of the ones who rolled back to 4.26.1 and it worked perfectly, so I didn't want to update until they released a version that was finally truly working for everyone. When I looked a few days ago, the version available to me said "Last updated Oct 31, 2024" and I forgot to look at the version number, but it was probably the 4.28.3 update. Yesterday, I finally decided to take the risk and update, but I went to verify which version was available first, and it said "Last updated Oct 25, 2024" and version 4.28.1, just like yours says. So a newer version was available to me, and then they walked it back. I checked the Play Store on a spare phone to see what Fitbit version was available to download, and it also says 4.28.1. Makes me wonder about everyone else's version now/what's available to everyone else. At any rate, I don't want to have to sideload 4.26.1 again if 4.28.1 doesn't work. Guess I'll just wait it out to see if 4.28.3 becomes available to me again. It's so weird that I had a newer version available, and then it went back to an older version.
EDIT: Version 4.29 from Nov 4th just dropped for me (several hours after first writing this post)
It’s 2 weeks and I still can’t sync. There is no way to discount from Bluetooth to forget the device as there is no button next to it. Stuck in limbo and really pissed. I’ve been with Fitbit since 2015 and never had a problem. This happened as soon as the google transfer in February happened
