Suddenly, the Phone sync feature with the iPhone is in a constant state. In the "Connected to Fitbit" area of the Fitbit app, I have the Charge 6 and my Phone connected. Ive had this for years. Never had an issue. Suddenly, the Phone sync is in a non-stop sync. I am at 3 million steps for today, which is impossible for me.
I did the following and it hasnt helped:
- Disconnected Charge 6 in "Connected to Fitbit" area
- Disconnected Phone in "Connected to Fitbit" area
- Logged out of app
- Uninstalled app and deleted data
- Removed from Bluetooth settings on phone
- Rebooted Charge 6
- Rebooted iPhone
- Reinstalled app and went pairing and setup
Hasnt helped....while writing this my daily steps went from 3 million to 3.3 million, FOR THE DAY!

No one has any suggestions? My issue seemed to have stopped, in that magnitude. But I do get random days where my steps seem to double, and I can’t figure out where those are coming from. What other source could inject steps to Fitbit?

Hello @fercho74
Sorry that no one responded to your first post. I've seen other iOS users reporting issues with syncing their Fitbits to their phones. So far, I haven't seen a solution. It's not clear to me if the issue is with the iOS Fitbit app or the iPhones settings/permissons.
Regarding your step overage: By any chance, do you have your phone as a connected device to the Fitbit app? To check:
- Tap on the device icon in the upper left of the Today page in the Fitbit app
- If your phone is connected to the Fitbit app, you'll see it under Devices. If it's not connected, you'll see Phone listed under Add connections
The option to have your phone connected to the Fitbit app is used to track your steps when you're not wearing your Fitbit. If your phone is connected to the app and you're wearing your Fitbit, both devices will be tracking your steps so you'll see a larger number of steps.
To disconnect your phone from the Fitbit app, tap on the Phone tile. On the following page, tap on Disconnect device & confirm by tapping Disconnect in the popup window.
