Hi,
I have had the Fitbit charge 6 for nearly 2 weeks and yesterday the screen went blank and had at least 20% battery still. I tried to charge it but nothing is coming up on the screen. when I plug the charger into the Fitbit it vibrates, also if i push the button on the side of the watch it vibrates.
I have followed the steps by switching to different plug and still no luck and I have tried multiple times to reset the device via the charger button (pushing 3 times in 8 seconds) As well as pulling the cable in and out of the plug to hard reset it but still no luck.
Is there a way to do a hard reset of the device via the button? Phone will not find or sync to the device either as it says the battery is low.
Also to add i have tried cleaning the back of the watch charging inlet as well as the charger itself.

To be fair, I also have a 4 that is still working (apart from a dim screen), but it was replaced once so I cant give it a 100% positive review. In general I did hear that the 4 was also a fairly reliable model, things went rapidly downhill with the 5 and the 6 was just a rushed updated to that because of all the issues. Lets see about the 7, im up for renewing my hardware subscription 😛

Updating firmware on the app worked for me, thanks very much!!

I am experiencing the same issue, briefly I can see the clock face before the grey screen shows, I am going to return this to the store. In NZ we have a great consumer guarantees act, this is only 6 months old.

This happened to my Charge 6 at the beginning of May. It's intermittently started working, but then goes back to black within a few hours. This is my fourth Fitbit since May 2022, not sure if I'm going to continue with the brand. I'll keep using it for sleep tracking, but it's useless as a watch or for weight-training, which I have to start manually.

From my personal experience, everything after the charge 4 is a massive upgrade in design but inherently unreliable. I had multiple charge 5 replacements and my first charge 6 lasted 8 months. I've been tempted to leave the brand several times but its difficult to find an alternative that offers the same both in terms of the device and software experience. its pretty sad, Fitbit used to be great.

Charge 6 has intermittently had the black screen since beginning of May. It's still recording sleep and heart rate and syncing with my phone, so I've continued to wear it. The last time the screen came back, I changed the setting to manual wake because I saw a thin, faint red line each time I raised my wrist to check the time. I think maybe the switch to turn on the screen wore out or something. Anyway, it's been 6 days so far that I can turn on the display manually. It's annoying that I can't auto-wake, but since this one is out of warranty (was a replacement for one bought about 17 months ago) I am just going to wear it til it stops working completely. If I get the rapid-discharge/won't charge thing (which brought down the three previous Fitbits) I'll let it sit for a few weeks to completely discharge, then put it on the charger. My warranty Charge 6 came back to life after sitting a month. (Wouldn't work, though, because Google disabled it when they sent the replacement. I discovered it was disabled in early May when I tried to use that one because my screen went black on the replacement.)
