Hi,
I have had the Fitbit charge 6 for nearly 2 weeks and yesterday the screen went blank and had at least 20% battery still. I tried to charge it but nothing is coming up on the screen. when I plug the charger into the Fitbit it vibrates, also if i push the button on the side of the watch it vibrates.
I have followed the steps by switching to different plug and still no luck and I have tried multiple times to reset the device via the charger button (pushing 3 times in 8 seconds) As well as pulling the cable in and out of the plug to hard reset it but still no luck.
Is there a way to do a hard reset of the device via the button? Phone will not find or sync to the device either as it says the battery is low.
Also to add i have tried cleaning the back of the watch charging inlet as well as the charger itself.

@jb1985uk Welcome to the forums! I will be happy to assist you bringing your Fitbit Charge 6 back to life.
Thanks for the explanation and your initiative to solve this on your own. It seems you have already checked out the tips here: Why isn't my Fitbit device's battery charging?. Since your device is still vibrating, it could still be running and just the display is out. Please be so kind to try a restart once again: How do I restart my Fitbit device?. Try pressing the button three times in an 8 second period keeping the time in between presses constant. Timing is key for the device to restart. If the restart is successful, you will feel a stronger vibration than when you press the button on the cable and the logo will show on screen.
This is happening to Charge 5 users as well. The fact Fitbit support are flooded with the same issue and just gaslight with generic battery issue support links suggests Fitbit have major unresolvable update issues they are doing their best to keep a lid on.

Hello everyone. A warm welcome to the newcomers. Thanks for reaching out about the Fitbit Charge 6 screen.
@Sanjay123g @OceaniaDan I was informed you are already in contact with support. They will provide you a suitable resolution. I appreciate your patience!
@RDW__ I am glad to read you managed to resolve it. Thanks for sharing what helped you out.
They haven’t provided any sort of solution, and have simply sent me a link about general battery issues, nothing to do with the actual fault, which is the update. There is no indication Fitbit actually intend to resolve this, and just hope the many of us who have this problem go away.

Exactly the same except mine is still synced with phone……. My screen went blank 3 days ago and I searched solutions. Mine rumbles when side button is pushed but does not when connected to charger. But it does charge and is synced with phone recording as before, just no screen. I have tried the reset using the charge cable and also changing faces, both with no results. I spent about 20 minutes online with the “help desk”, but they kept repeating the 2 solutions I mentioned above and had already tried multiple times. I give up. I loved the bright face of the 6 but at least my 4 NEVER quit me!!!! Maybe Fitbit will read our problems and give us REAL solutions
Me too. Might be good advice for some people but it appears to not be helping many of us. What do we do??

Best AnswerDid anyone get a useful response by now?
I have a similar problem. My Charge 6 is working, counting steps and syncing, but the screen is nothing but black (except for the Fitbit logo when restarting).
Additionally, the battery life went down from about a week to about a day, I've got the feeling that the Charge 6 starts over and over again.
I've tried to...
The app wants to update the Charge 6 firmware, but when trying this no connection can be made.
Any suggestions?

Hi Fibit,
I am facing the same issue my Charge 6 screen is not turning on and when I charge it, it just keeps vibrating with screen still off. I tried all the methods mentioned already: cleaning the charging points reset button (3x in 8 secs), still doesn’t work.
pls advise next steps. Thanks
For me the issue was solved after I updated the Fitbit firmware via the app (make sure the app is the latest version as well).
(This seems somewhat strange, but I discovered this "solution" out of boredom and it worked for me)
I tried that before, but when I tried to update the firmware the App could not connect with the Fitbit (although synching worked).
I noticed that I always tried to update the firmware while the Fitbit was hooked up for charging. I then tried again while it was not connected to the charger and suddenly the firmware update worked - afterwards the Display was also working again, no problem since then.
Hi Marcel,
your advice worked for me too! I realized my app was not updated so I updated it to the latest. Shortly after my charge 6 screen appeared again and everything was back to normal. Thanks so much!
