I recently upgraded from a Charge 4 to a Charge 6. However, the Charge 6 is recording Zero floors climbed - the Charge 4 routinely reported 7 - 20+ per day, but the Charge 6 says Zero - every day!
Is there a setting that enables/disable the Floors function? Or is it likely that the Charge 6 is defective?

Charge 6 does not measure floors climbed. It does not have the required hardware altimeter so could not be added even with firmware update.

You're not alone in feeling disappointed @pathopeter. See this other thread (and others) on the same topic of concern: https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Charge-6/Will-the-Charge-6-track-floors/td-p/5458414

I wish I'd known that the Charge 6 did not count floors. I wouldn't have bought it!!!!!!

I HATE the Google experience with FitBit. No counting stairs climbed. Forced me to use a gmail account in order for me to access the data on my device - would not have upgraded had I known Can no longer access data on the website, only the app. In most situations I avoid using ANY Google appa/environments. Google simply does not play well with others, especially their customers!!!

That sucks, why leave the header.
I recently upgraded Charge 4 to Charge 6 and have been initially quite impressed.
I had nothing but trouble with charge 4, replaced twice by Fitbit.
Removing the altimeter is a backwards step poor show Fitbit.

Agreed. They could have included that information if they were ethical about it

If I’d known this functionality had been omitted from this device I would not have bought it.

OK, then how do I get FLOORS to register? Is my Charge 6 just not going to ever register FLOORS!

Hello @sharondipity
The Charge 6 doesn't have an altimeter which is needed to track floors. So, you won't see floor tracking.

I just realized that replacing my dead Charge 4 with the 6 did not include the altimeter. I have enjoyed the altimeter since the first Fitbit pocket tracker I got in 2010 or so. Sorry to say this is typical Google. They just do stuff to change or eliminate the products and features that many come to depend on - just because they decide to. Their internal logic is all that matters, customer preferences be danged! (the comment filter bleeped out.my first choice word!)

Hi @brirvin The Charge 6 isn't the first Charge model without the altimeter. The Charge 5 didn't have an altimeter and it is a Fitbit product, not a Google product. Google didn't remove the altimeter. Fitbit did. The Charge 5 took a new direction for trackers with the addition of the ECG and EDA hardware. An altimeter is a small piece of hardware, too. I saw a video of a Charge 5 tear down. I couldn't see a way to keep the altimeter AND keep it the size of a tracker.

I’ve only found out it doesn’t register floors the charge 4 was much better and being tied to Google really makes me think that it’s time to more to a better watch
