I’ve walked at least half a mile so far today and several flights of stairs and my Fitbit says I’m only at 95 steps. I had to reconnect it to my phone (remove from the app and then reconnect) and everything else is synced up correctly but the step count is just not really working? Anyone have any solutions??

I seem to have observed the same problem, early this morning -- 0 steps, after I'd taken some tens of them. Other abilities like sleep and heart monitor seem to be ok.
I'd observed an update of the Fitbit app on my PIxel phone late the night before, and I suspect this is involved -- children that don't think out what they need to test, possibly testing only with the new coming firmware which none of us have?
The following seems to have repaired it, returned normal operation:
- restarted the Charge 6 itself, from the device
- restarted the phone which the Fitbit app runs on.
Now it works, immediate to walking if the app is open. I tested also(!) with the app completely off on the phone, some steps, then return to the phone and opened it -- the step count showed the prior value, then updated in a second or two.
I might apologize for rudeness above, except Fitbit software development has seemed very careless before. The 'extra' test I just showed is an indication of how you have to actually think to do things well, considering the envelope of possibilities your customers may run into..
