I have a new charge 6 which I set up and worked ok for about 24 hours. Now the watch is totally blank and I can’t wake it up. I have tried the ‘button’ on the side with no joy. I’ve attached it to the charger again (was at 100% when I first used it 48 hours ago)
is there a permanent ‘sleep’ mode I might have accidentally activated or is it possibly a faulty watch?

Hello @Amanda505h
If your Charge 6 is in Sleep mode, double tapping on the display or pressing the button should wake it up. Since you've already tried the button, it doesn't seem like your device is in Sleep mode.
By any chance, did you enable Water Lock? If so, try firmly double tapping on the display to disable Water Lock. Make sure to firmly/strongly tap.
Have you tried restarting your Charge 6 using the charging cable that came with your device? If you would like instructions on how to do this, see page 53 of the Charge 6 manual (<-- click link). What do you see when you restart your device?
Let us know if you were able to get any response from your Charge 6.

I’m having the same issue, but it’s not in sleep mode. It just turns off and I need to reset the device with the cable, it’s happened four times since buying the device two days ago.. I don’t want to fix it, just going to return it. Disappointed

From the manual:
If Charge 6 is unresponsive:
1. Connect your device to the charging cable.
2. Press the button located on the flat end of the charger 3 times within 8 seconds, holding each press for about 1 second.
3. Wait 10 seconds or until the Fitbit logo appears.
Note: If the device doesn’t restart, wait 15 seconds and try again.
Just tried it. Didn't help with my brand new Charge6.
(at 50% battery and last synced 2h ago according to the app)

Looks like the Charge6 did not respond to the Charge5 cable but it did to the Charge6 cable.
Both looking identical.

I've had this same issue, haven't even had it a day and have to hard reset it again which defeats the point in having it. Going to return it when I get home from work unless someone can tell me why this issue were having is going on and how to avoid it

Just happend again.
The third time it happend, using a different charging cable seems to have helped.
Either that or it simply started to respond again after serveral DAYS.
I don't remember having this issue on the Charge5.
A watch you're supposed to wear 24/7 to estimage KCal burned randomly locking up for days at a time completely defeats the purpose of this device.

My mother's Charge 6 screen is black. She has done all the things suggested in manual and online. Nothing is fixing problem. She no longer can see the time or any other information. It does vibrate and the green light on the back does light up with movement. Please help. This is so frustrating as I am 250 miles away from her.

Hello @LesliW
Have your mother contact Fitbit support (<-- click link) so that they can walk her through troubleshooting. If they determine that her device is defective, they can help her with the warranty options.

I've had the same problem in both my charge 5 and charge 6.
I contacted support on my charge 5, and fitbit support told me to get a charge 6.
So I did, and the same issue is happening with my charge 6. I was able to restart when i reconnected to a charge cable. I contacted support and they said to wait for the next 3 days
It was good, but a week later the same problem happened. However connecting to the charge cable did not solve the problem. And it still is unresponsive
So I had to send in the fitbit back to get a replacement.
I'm still waiting for my replacement

Just got a Charge 6 last night. I figured I'd charge it over night and set it up in the morning. When I plugged it in I found it odd nothing appeared on the screen indicating it was charging. This morning there is no indication it's charge and it won't turn on. Very disappointing.

Hello @mikecay
I have a Charge 5 which uses the same charging cable as the Charge 6. I've noticed that I need to set my Charge 5 just right on the charger end in order to get it to start charging. You should definitely see a charging screen when the device is properly connected to the charger cable.
Since there's a chance that the Charge 6 battery is now drained, it's recommended to leave it on the charger for about 2 hours once you've got it connected and it shows the charging screen.
If you have the Charge 6 connected to the charging cable, but it's still not charging, it might be best to return the Charge 6 to where you got it for a replacement.

Same problem, havent used my Fitbit for more than a week and so much trouble with screen not waking up. Must connect cable, and i dont want to walk around with that in my pocket in case my watch stops working. Never had problems with my luxe. Regret my buy

Same problem here and the solution had nothing to do with restarting the fitbit, since it was a software update issue. Go into the fitbit app on your phone and if it the software needs updating there will be a red disclaimer on the screen. As soon as I updated mine, the fitbit started working again.

Other forum discussions recommend changing the clockface via the Fitbit App - Open app click on your device in upper left, then Gallery, then Clocks in top middle.
This definitely worked for me. I suspect there is some memory leak with these clockfaces, and changing the clockface forces an uninstall of old clock and fresh install of new clock, where perhaps they've updated the code in all the clockfaces?
I'm betting the App or Software updates don't actually refresh the code for these clockfaces, thus you have to specifically change the clockface to see the fix.

Hey so my fit bit 6 just turned black, charging does nothing. Hard restart by pressing three buttons on charge 6 charger just brings up bit fit icon and nothing else.
I can’t update the app bc it can’t connect to the Bluetooth with the the charge 6 bc the screen stays black. I don’t even have this for a good month. Frustrated

Hi,
I messaged they said they would do a refund with Payoneer. I've tried to sign up and I have never encountered anything more difficult.
At this point i may just have ti cut my losses and move on because this entire thing is a catastrophe!

I just got mine today from Amazon. I would say I had the weirdest experience I have ever had with a new device. It started when I failed to remove the screen protector paper: the paper tab just came off, and I spent 5 minutes picking out the rest. Then, it didn't wake up after I put it on charge. I had to spend 30 minutes of my life to find this thread. It is still unclear which buttons on the charger to press; I didn't notice any buttons, but after about 20 attempts, the device turned on, and I could even connect it to the phone.
After that, the phone's application reported that the tracker needed to be updated. After 30 minutes of watching the phone lose connection with the tracker lying on it and start updating from scratch, each time after losing the tracker, I stopped monitoring it.
An hour later, when I tried to see how it all ended, it turned out that the device had turned off and not woken up. And it is still bricked after an hour of my reanimation attempts, pressing everywhere: corners, buttons, chargers, etc.
As I said, the most weird experience I had in my life was with a brand-new device. What makes it even more weird is that it seems it is a great one, but if it actually works.
