Charge 6 recording exercise but daily totals not updating accordingly

I completed the below walk, noting 3.32 miles. This is a specifically recorded exercise that I logged.

The issues is that thus then does not reflect in the daily totals, on top of all my normal daily steps.

It's clear this is wrong if you simply note the distance walked in this particular hour (3.32 miles) and then note that the daily total is only stating 1.07 miles!

Can anyone help? I've tried forcing a sync, turning Bluetooth on and off, restarting the device, double checking stride length, and nothing seems to work.

Hi, @ShaneLC , sometimes not all the stats are uploaded at once, so it is possible that while your exercise app has updated, your daily total has not.  As you have already tried forcing a sync, I would recommend relying on background (auto) sync and then checking your app later.  Usually you will find that everything has been updated after a while, but if not, try forcing a sync again in a few hours.

If data is still missing tomorrow, please post again and someone may be able to look into this more closely.  But I feel pretty confident from what you have said that all will be well - it’s just a data gathering delay.

I have the same problem, my miles don’t seem to change. Yesterday I walked 27k steps and miles total says 5.25 at top of dashboard and 2.74, but further down the numbers don’t match up.

today, same issue: 28k steps and 5.53 miles.

@ShaneLC   In your specific case, the reply given by @Julia_G won't help you.  You used the Outdoor Workout shortcut, a shortcut designed for non-step based activities like downhill skiing.  It behaves like the Bike shortcut.  Your daily distance total is for step based activities.  Do not use this shortcut if you are walking, running, hiking or any other activity where you are putting one foot in front of the other on the ground.

@Saraspiro   You might have a different known issue.  Some users are an automatic stride length issue.  They aren't getting credit for distance that comes from steps, but that get their distance from GPS tracked activity.  There isn't enough detail for me in your screenshots.  If my explanation makes sense, Fitbit is aware of the issue.

@Mollylily  Hello and welcome to the Community.  You have a completely different issue not related to this topic.  Please start a new thread and give more details.

Hello @Saraspiro

To add to @LZeeW 's reply, we're seeing reports from users that they aren't seeing distance tracked by their Fitbits. As she said, the Fitbit team is aware of the problem.

Some users with this issue have reported that they are seeing distance tracked again when they turn off automatic stride and manually set a stride length. If you would like to try this workaround, this help article has the steps on how to manually set the stride length in the Fitbit app  (<-- click link).

Please let us know if this workaround works for you, if you try it.

Thank you, I will try that now, but any reason why this issue popped up and when a fix is estimated to come? A fitness tracker that doesn’t track distance is somewhat useless.

Thanks,
Sara

Hello @Saraspiro

Unfortunately, we don't have any insight on bug/issue fixes. We have seen that this issue is not exclusive to a specific Fitbit device. I'm not sure, but it may be affecting iOS and Android users.

If we do learn of any updates, we'll report back.

BTW, it looks like you have your phone number in your last post. It's highly recommended not to include personal information like that in a public forum.
