Charge 6 won’t connect when the app is closed

I recently got a charge 6 and have an IPhone 16 pro max. When I have the app open the charge works perfectly but as soon as I close the Fitbit app the watch disconnects. I’ve restarted the charge and my phone, unpaired and repaired, turned Bluetooth on and off. Does anyone know why this is happening or how to fix it?

Thank you for your message. I'm sorry to hear that your Charge 6 disconnects as soon as you close the Fitbit app.
