Charge 6 won’t reset

ANSWERED

I put the Charge 6 on the charger last night. It synced (according to the app) 3 hours ago and now the face is blank. It will not turn on, the app can’t find it. WiFi and bluetooth settings haven’t changed. I tried the reset button on the charge cord several time with no response.

Welcome back to the Fitbit community, @Reddawgmt!

Sad to hear that you're having an issue with your Charge 6.
Sometimes it requires more than one attempt to successfully restart Charge 6. So, before throwing the towel, please give it another try closely follow these instructions as timing is crucial for this procedure:

1.) Connect your Charge 6 to the charging cable which has to be connected to a reliable power source.
2.) Press the button located on the flat end of the charging cable 3 times within 8 seconds(!), holding each press for about 1 second(!).
3.) Wait around 10 seconds until the Fitbit logo appears on your device's display.

If your Charge 6 really won't restart, please make sure that its charging contacts are clean. In doubt please have a closer look here:

How do I clean my Fitbit device?

I'll keep my fingers crossed.

If doing the 3 button press does not work, look on the fitbit app on your phone  and see if your charge 6 needs an update. Update it and phone is back to normal.

Yes there is an update but when I try to do that it doesn't work that either. What can i do if I  can't reset the charge 6 and not even update it? Any other ideas?

Hi @TussilagoWelcome to our community forums!

Thank you so much @Talahthas and @Gordonbrosterbe for your assistance.

@TussilagoI'm sorry to hear that your Charge 6 is unable to complete the restart or update. Thank you for sharing us the details.

If restarting with the charging cable button didn't work for you, you can try this other method:

  1. Connect your Fitbit device to the charger.
  2. Please remove and re-insert it quickly.
  3. After a half-second pause, repeat this removal and insertion motion 3 more times, all within a span of 8 seconds.

Additionally, please let me know if you receive any error messages while trying to complete the update. For more information on how to update your Charge 6, you can take a look at this article: Update your Fitbit device
