Different steps on Fitbit and app

My Fitbit currently shows 21,976 steps, but my app is only showing 14,330. I've restarted both my phone and Fitbit and tried to manually sync.

The app is still counting steps, but maintains a deficit of nearly 7,000 steps. This just started today.

Any suggestions?

There has been an on-going issue on the Fitbit side that affects step tracking & step count discrepancy between the Fitbit and the app. The team is aware of the issue and has been working on fixing the problem.

Based on user reports, it seems that the correct number of steps is uploaded to user accounts on the Fitbit servers although the step number isn't correct in the app. They report that they see the correct number of steps in their weekly Fitbit progress email, but not in the app. This indicates to me that there's a syncing issue between the Fitbit servers & the app. As best as I can tell, there isn't any loss of data.

For now, there isn't any troubleshooting that we can recommend since the issue is on the Fitbit side.
