On fitbit app, trying to change from versa 3 to charge 6. Keep getting error message. Says I need to change to google acct, but when I try that, it says the google email address is already being used on fitbit app, which it isn't. So frustrated. What is the answer!

I have tried fitbit online support many times to change from versa 3 to charge 6. I think they've blocked me now. I've had many suggestions, none worked. It seems my google login is attached to an old versa 2 app which I can't delete, coz I can't log in to it, this is why I can't change things. I was thinking of deleting the versa 3 acct and trying to upload charge 6 then, it may work.

It doesn't matter if the original account you signed up with was a Gmail account (trust me, I tried that). You still need to follow the instructions provided by @Rich_Laue , otherwise it won't be recognized on Fitbit's end as a Google account.

No it is not causing the problem, signing in with a gmail address, as @DramaQueenDiva explains, is not the same as signing in with a Google account.
