Download Charge 6

On fitbit app, trying to change from versa 3 to charge 6. Keep getting error message. Says I need to change to google acct, but when I try that, it says the google email address is already being used on fitbit app, which it isn't. So frustrated. What is the answer!

You do not want to change your fitbit log in to your google email address,

I have tried fitbit online support many times to change from versa 3 to charge 6. I think they've blocked me now. I've had many suggestions, none worked. It seems my google login is attached to an old versa 2 app which I can't delete, coz I can't log in to it, this is why I can't change things. I was thinking of deleting the versa 3 acct and trying to upload charge 6 then, it may work.

Thanks Rich for reply.I only have one google acct, & my fitbit acct, but I have an old versa 2, acct, which is accessed by my google log-in, this is causing the problem. I can't delete versa 2 as it won't let me log in. I've tried fitbit online help a few times, was hoping they could delete versa 2, but no, I have to, which just 'aint' working.  I'm thinking of deleting versa 3 to download charge 6, but I may stuff the whole thing up.Nothing but headaches. It doesn't matter if the original account you signed up with was a Gmail account (trust me, I tried that).  You still need to follow the instructions provided by @Rich_Laue , otherwise it won't be recognized on Fitbit's end as a Google account.

No it is not causing the problem, signing in with a gmail address, as @DramaQueenDiva explains, is not the same as signing in with a Google account.

I have resolved the Charge 6 problem, it's up & running.
