ECG app missing on Charge 6.

ANSWERED

Just bought a Fitbit charge 6 specialy for the ECG app how ever when i have come to set it up i have been rather dissapointed to discover the option to use the app is missing.

I am in the UK and have checked all my settings have the location set correct, i have also rebooted, reset, reinstalled loged in and out many times, but still the option to install the ECG app is not present on either the phone or the device its self.

Tried talking the the support team but this was just an hour of my time wasted with them telling me to do things like install any other ecg software

As per my origional post, yes the location is set correct and i have gone over all the setting and everything is set as it should be. I have how ever discovered that if i turn off my wifi and connect via Cellular network the app appears but as soon as i connect back onto my home network the app dissapears again. Just to clarify my home internet is a UK bassed company i have no VPN and if i do a look up on my IP it shows as being fairly local to me with in the UK so why this is making the app dissapear i have no idea. Im glad i have found a way to make this work but it still is a joke that i can only use it on celullar and have to reinstall each time because it is auto removing the app when i connect to the home internet.

Hi @CXBWelcome to  the Fitbit Community! It's great to have you here!

Let me help you with the ECG feature in your Charge 6. I also appreciate the time you have already spent towards the resolution of your issue.

If you have a Charge 6 and you live in the UK, you should be able to install de ECG app on your device.

If the Fitbit ECG app isn’t already installed on your Charge 6, download it by following the instructions below:

  •  With your Charge 6 nearby, from the Today tab in the Fitbit app, tap the devices icon > Charge 6.
  • Tap Gallery > Apps tab.
  • In the list of apps, tap ECG > Install.

You can learn additional information about this topic by reading our help article What is the Fitbit ECG app?

Hello @CXB

Have you had a chance to confirm that your location is correctly setup in the Fitbit app?

  • Tap on your picture in the upper right of the Today page in the Fitbit app
  • Tap on Fitbit settings in the menu that opens
  • Tap on Date, time & units under App settings
  • Location should show as UK. If not, tap on Location and confirm the setting is Set location automatically

If your location shows as UK, you can try disabling Set automatically and manually set your location to UK. Then, see if the ECG app is available to you.

By any chance, do you use a VPN? Some users have reported that turning off their VPN setting worked and they were able to setup the ECG app.

Hello @CXB. I have a similar problem because I had my fidbit charge 6 in one phone, and in this phone the ECG was installed. But when I changed the phone to upgrade the ECG option disappeared.  Your message made me wonder if the problem could be similar and indeed it is. When I use my cellphone internet plan, the ECG is uninstalled and disappear from the app list. When I use the internet from the home network (Starlink) the ECG appears in the Fitbit app.

Maybe @DavidFitbit could helps us in this matter.

Why the ECG option could not be installed no matter location?

Just make a warning and let the app fix like the other ones.

Did you ever get a resolution to this? I have the same problem. I’m in the UK using what was Giganet WiFi (now Cuckoo fibre) with eero routers and extenders. When my phone is connected to the WiFi, the ECG and SPO2 apps disappear. When I disconnect WiFi from my phone, the apps both reinstall. They also work on other WiFi networks. All locations are set to automatic and show UK. Have tried setting manually and it doesn’t work.
