Feature review: Auto dnd based on sleep detection

Wanted to know how accurate is Fitbit’s sleep detection feature and how seamless is setting dnd based on that.

Does it work always which is as soon as it detects a person is sleeping dnd automatically turns on for pixel device.

Can someone compare it to galaxy watch. I have heard Fitbit’s sleep detection is better, do I need to get nesthub too for better accuracy.

Does auto dnd based on sleep detection works with galaxy device.

I don’t need the watch to only work with the sleeping schedule I had set, I would want it to work whenever I go to sleep.

Does it have an auto-DND supposed to automatically go to DND while asleep?  I never heard of that.  Where did you see or read that?

I saw some threads around dnd sync, maybe it is not possible as you said. It is possible with pixel watch using sleep sync feature or bedtime sync.

Hi @JohnnyRow and welcome @siddharthabhi30 to the Fitbit Community! It's great to have you here!

I'm glad to explain to you how the "do not disturb" feature works.

You can adjust sleep mode settings, including setting a schedule for the mode to automatically turn on and off. However, if you fall asleep during a schedule out of the stablished timeframe, dnd won't turn on automatically

To set a schedule:

- Open the Settings app and tap Quiet Modes Sleep Mode Schedule Interval.
- Tap the start or end time to adjust when the mode turns on and off. Swipe up or down to change the time, and tap the time to select it. Sleep mode automatically turns off at the time you schedule, even if you manually turned it on.

You can always post this kind of suggestions. We're constantly striving to improve Google and Fitbit products and services, and we appreciate all of the input we receive from our customers. The best place to make your voice heard is the Product Feedback board on our community.

@siddharthabhi30  Now I see what you are getting at.  Many Fitbits models, including Charge 6, do have a 'Sleep Mode' which does a few things including turn on DND, but Sleep Mode does not, and cannot be set to, automatically turn on when you fall Asleep.  It does not recognize when you fall asleep.  It has to be set  by you, either by a predetermined set schedule, or manually each night and then turned off when you awake.

Hey,

from reading more on dnd sync thing with android smartphone, I don’t think this feature is possible using Fitbit watch. It is possible using pixel watch though.

I could be wrong but google is going to implement modes/routines feature in aosp android similar to Samsung, it would be great if Fitbit has dnd sync integration with every android smart phone.

I would think the trouble with dnd not starting until you are asleep would be that you would not want to be getting texts and other notifications once you are in bed trying to get to sleep. And that is the value of Fitbit's Sleep Mode. It can turn on at your bed time so you don't get disturbed when you are trying to fall asleep.
But maybe that's just me, and you wouldn't mind getting notifications while trying to fall asleep.
