Thank you for your patience as you waited for the firmware update.
This update includes key fixes for battery and display issues, along with new clock faces for Charge 6.
Please keep an eye on the Fitbit mobile app for the update notification as it continues to become available to all users, beginning this week.
Thank you for your continued support and patience!

4.56, nothing at the Play Store yet.

Thanks for the tip. I was at 4.56, which for me updated a week or so ago. Because of your post, I was able to find the update to 4.57 and manually update.. Hopefully I won't need to reset as often.
Sadly my watch seems stuck at 214.14

Remarkably, the update became available last night, so I am now running on 4.57. Fingers crossed!

How long do I have to wait for the update?
should I return my charge 6? I’ve had it since February 2025.
thanks

I regularly checked the Fitbit app on Playstore and last night there was an update. Keep checking!

I am as angry as everyone else here. I lost faith months ago that I would get the last update and I have no faith in this one either. Stop making promises. Just stop already

After upgrading my fitbit, it no longer registers my heart beat. I'm quite sure I have one. Thanks for your help.

Have you checked to see that heart rate is still turned on on the Charge 6? (Scroll down to settings, then scroll up to heart rate). Some times settings get reset after updating.

I never got the update that was due a few months ago or a few weeks ago. Just saying - other companies do keep their devices pretty updated.
I wonder if you can migrate the data onto another platform.

Mine has never updated, although it is working okay as long as I stay out of Health Connect. It doesn't like it when I look around in Health Connect and will usually have problems with sleep data for at least that same day/night, and sometimes two days.
I seriously doubt if you can move your data to another platform unless maybe you find one that lets you enter it manually.

I am running app version 4.57 on Android Galaxy S23 phone, and no fitbit firmware update yet. Fitbit firmware version shows 214.24

Same here. 4.57, which updated not long ago, and Fitbit firmware version is still 214.24.

Here's my experience with a brand new Charge 6 ordered Amazon a few days ago:
Initial setup went pretty smooth, it even found a firmware update and updated to 214.24 -- I could not find the 3 new watch faces announced for this model in July nearly half a year ago so I googled on it and found this thread.
I had called support on the phone and they had some super weird story that the firmware is downloaded in the background in small increments. If true why? It is not like the firmware file will be many gigabytes. There is no reason at all not to send the full firmware to my phone so I can upgrade to 220.31. The only thing support told me is to manually refresh many times and hope the update shows up.
Is this the best google can do? Really? This feels more like an elaborate troll than anything else. Like I said there is no reason at all why google can not send the full firmware file to my device, or wait, maybe make it available for direct download and create a manual update function in the app to load that file. Or you know, just send that tiny little firmware file in one go.
I am baffled and will likely just return this $100+ Charge 6. Feel like I been scammed or something; 5+ months old watch faces still not available. A new firmware with what seems like important fixes not available. Some weird excuse as to why this firmware update is not showing one month after it's announced here. This is the kind of "service" I expect from a budget brand, not an expensive fitness tracker made by a multi-billion dollar company. Google should be ashamed this is the level of service they provide.
I have tried many manuals syncs on both Android and Apple devices using the latest app version 4.57 -- someone needs to step up and sort this out. It is ridiculous.

The latest reply to my bi-weekly ask of support:
Thanks for reaching out to the Fitbit Customer Care Team. We have received an update from our senior team regarding your inquiry. They have informed us that the firmware update is currently in the initial stages of a phased rollout (currently at 1% availability). We can confirm that the Charge 6 is included in this release. In the meantime, please continue to monitor your Fitbit mobile app. You will receive a notification as soon as the update becomes available for your device. We appreciate your patience.

That really sounds like an excuse to me, it is not like Google hasn't got the infrastructure. They can easily distribute a firmware file to the whole planet if need be. They can host millions of daily downloads for Chrome or the full Android source code which is many many gigabytes. Also these 3 new watch faces were announced for the Charge 6 in July 2025. We're almost in 2026 and still no 3 new watch faces for many customers. There is no excuse, Google dropped the ball and their inaction shows they simply do not care. Not once has someone from Fitbit/Google replied in this threat to offer some explanations, but they jump in other threads quickly but somehow this one is ignored. All very peculiar.

Yeah, I hear that excuse every month or two. My Charge 5 never got updated. Google has updates for phones down, every month a new update within 5 days to all devices. Firmware for a watch has to be much smaller. There should be an "update" button in the app that you just hit and it updates monthly (or even quarterly).
The 3 new watch faces, are you talking Fastlane, Sans, and Readiness, or are there 3 new ones?
