Fitbit Charge 6 returns saga

Bought a FitBit Charge6 on November 30, 2024 and received the device around a week later. I did not receive any order confirmation - no email. But did not think much about it. I wanted to try out Google devices so that I can switch from Apple to Google phone+tracker etc eventually. But the tracker is a complete disappointment. Few issues -

The UI is laughable but tried to ignore it for few days. The tracker does not recognize start of a workout or even end of workout. I started the tracking for yoga and after 4 hours the tracker was still recording the workout! Same happened with a quick run, walking, etc., Type of workout does not matter. It's just supposed to be "feature"?!

Tried to locate the order from Dec 20-ish but could not find any email confirmation. Was busy with family vacation, did not get too much time to sit and "debug" the whole tragedy that is Google + FitBit returns. Finally got hold of support - they said they are FitBit support and not Google and I bought the device from Google store so contact them. Seriously?! Google acquired FitBit in Jan 2021 - no time to merge the systems? I would pay some attention if spent $2.1 billion on a purchase! Then again next day I called Google support to hear that - Sorry the returns are only valid for 15 days. Bye. Really? I say your product sucks and the response is - I can send a replacement or nothing? I do not blame the support folks - they are doing their job. Seriously disappointed with the whole experience. And here I was planning to switch from Apple ecosystem to Google - not happening, Apple is no angel but their products suck a little less. </rant>

Hello @Pthippes

The support personnel gave you incorrect information regarding the return window. Please see this page for the Fitbit return policy (<-- click link).

Although you're already planning to return the Charge 6, this page (<-- click link) has a link to the Charge 6 user manual which explains which activities are auto-tracked. Yoga is not one of the auto-tracked activities. However, your run & walk should have been auto-tracked, if the session was at least 15 minutes (default length of time, can be changed to minimum 10 minutes).

Thanks for your response @RiekoC ! Very helpful!

Yes, the walking and run were more than 15 minutes long. Thanks for clarification regarding yoga.
