I recently upgraded from a Charge 5 to a Charge 6 and am running into one maddening issue. Half of my straps which connected perfectly to my Charge 5 simply refuse to stay securely connected to the 6. I never get a secure click and the strap won't stay on. Some work fine, some won't. Is there something I'm missing or is my Charge 6 defective?

I have solved the problem with at least the metal mesh band. Look up my post from a couple of days ago

Well, that's annoying, that FibBit messed with a perfectly good system, but when I chat or email them, they simply insist that any band made for the 5 will work for the 6. So whoever I've spoken/emailed with is either ignorant or lying. The person I emailed with about it apparently thinks that by simply insisting something is true, that makes it true. Sigh..... But thank you for posting this. I'm going to try your solution of bending the band's connection. I should have read more posts in the forum before buying the 6. I know in the grand scheme of things, this is small potatoes, but still pisses me off. Why can't things just WORK?

@RodrigoMFitbit I have been calling about this issue since 2/5/2024. It is still not resolved. At first, I thought it was the band, so I got a hook-and-loop band from Fitbit online store. It not only kept falling off, but it nearly disintegrated.
I nearly lost my watch last week at Costco, but fortunately, it fell off in the car while driving as I found it on the driver-side floor. Now support wants a video of the watch falling off. This is impossible! How can I have a video camera ready all day waiting for it to fall off?
I want to wear a fitbit, but solving this issue is very difficult.

Which one is the bottom connection? From the very first day, my original band has fallen off the bottom side as you read the watch. I decided to get a new band off the Fitbit site and it also fell off. I got one from Amazon and it also falls off. I can't get any to stay attached via the latch on the Fitbit module.

@Delsie My original band falls off and also a Fitbit brand hook and loop style fell off until it fell apart! Not good quality!

@CherylCM This is lunacy! I like the Charge 6 but it fell off my wrist three times The last time I, too, thought it was lost in a hotel in another city but found it in my tote bag. That's when I sent the 6 back and ordered another Charge 5. You really can't know when it is going to slip off! Either they did not pay attention to quality control in the band-attaching mechanism, or they did this on purpose. Perhaps Google wants to kill the Charge series, although I am not sure why they would do that to a popular watch. I just want my technology to work as expected.

You can only do that if you are using the actual fitbit bands; they won't honor warranty with aftermarket bands

These work for me, two other sets I have tried will not attach. I took a dremel to one of the straps that didn’t fit correctly and was able to make it work, but not ideal. <top>
