My son received a Fitbit Charge 6 for Christmas and is trying to set it up. He has a Fitbit account from a previous device but Fitbit is requiring him to move to a Google account to use the Charge 6.
The problem is, when he uses his Google account, Fitbit says he can't use it because it is a supervised or Workspace account. He has a kids Google account which is managed by us.
I also tried to create a new Gmail address but his phone won't let him add a second Gmail account because it's a managed account. Is there any workaround for this problem?

My daughter just got a charge 6 for her 11th birthday and is very excited to use it. Now I have to return it as there isn't a work around...

@Lancz is your daughter old enough. If this is her fitbit, it should be easy to create a Google account.

Hello @Lancz
Have you had a chance to review all the posts in this thread? There are mentions of workarounds. Have you tried any of the suggestions?
That said, I know there have been several app updates since the workarounds were initially shared. So, the suggestions might not work anymore.

Hi @Lancz You are correct. There is no workaround. A child must be 13 and older in the US (16 and older in some EU countries) to use a Charge 6. I also want to point out that the ECG feature isn't approved for use in the US unless the user is 22 and older.

I tried to do the birthday a day later but it wouldn't work. We created a new google account. She already had one but oh well.

I did, some were outdated. I tried the make birthday next day and it may have worked if we waited longer but I finally just made her another google account so it would work.

Right, had this been advertised I would have bought a much cheaper option and avoided this exercise in frustration. Come to find out yesterday they don't even have step challenges anymore lol. I'd tell anyone to avoid fitbit in the future until google gets it's act together.
