Hello community,
I found strange thing happened with sleep tracking of the Fitbit.
1) sometimes it automatically track my sleep without I need to log in manually at the start of the sleep, sometimes it doesn't.
2) sometimes fitbit records sleep pattern/stage, sometimes it doesn't. Only 'asleep' and 'restless' 'awake'
3) yesterday sleep, Fitbit recorded my sleep stage, I log in manually via fitbit app. But today the record is gone, and it changed into 'asleep' 'awake' recordings.
Please help

A warm welcome to the community forums @Iqbalsbarqi
Please take into consideration that there are a few scenarios where you might see your sleep pattern (which shows your time asleep, restless, and awake) instead of sleep stages:
In addition, if you continue to experience the same difficulty, try to perform a restart following the steps listed here, this has been useful for other users experiencing something similar.
And since the sleep stages depend on the heart rate information, I would also recommend following all the instructions in this article to improve the accuracy of heart rate information: What factors can affect my heart-rate reading on my Fitbit device?

This response is 100% NOT HELPFUL. My brand new Charge 6 is not tracking my sleep. None of the instructions to fix it work because nothing in my phone/fitbit app match the instructions. Not a single one. I need explicit, current instruction. How the heck do I fix it? By the way, there is no menu option in the fitbit app, only "Today" "Coach" & "You" All the instruction appear to have been written BEFORE the new app debuted (that's an completely different complaint).
I am super frustrated & ready send this thing back for refund.

That does not help!! My charge 6 stopped recording my sleep stages and it stopped picking up correct heart rate. I have cleaned the back of it, restarted 3 times and it still isn't working correctly. I've only had this less than 6 months. There is no data update available for this device. Fitbit needs to fix this or start issuing refunds to people. Once word gets around about these issues it's going to lower your sales.

OK, folks - I figured it out, at least on my Fitbit Charge 6 - I had "sleep mode" turned OFF, on the watch itself. I turned it back ON & I'm back in business.
It's amazing to me that I had to figure this out for myself. Why didn't you guys know about it? If you want sleep stats, you have to turn sleep mode ON on the device itself.

Is sleep mode on your fitbit charge 6 on or off? It's on the device itself, 2 screens up from the clock face. Turn it ON to get sleep stats and correct heart rate. I was very surprised that that's all it was.

On the device itself. Swipe down from the clockface to reveal controls above. The second one up from the clockface was sleep mode & it only gives two options, on or off. Choose on. And then never ever touch it again lol.

sleep mode is just for the screen of the watch not to automatically turn on while moving arm at night and to stop notifications from waking you up, not for tracking sleep...
