GPS doesn't work for auto detect when walking with Charge 6

Hi.  GPS is on for walking and set to phone- map of walks show in the app with no issues which suggests all settings are fine.   However the gps does not work for auto detect  when walking.   Am I missing a setting please?

Welcome  to the Fitbit Community, @123dry. I'll be happy to assist with your GPS query.

With auto-detect (Smart-Track) the distance is not registered, nor the GPS. Please check: How do I track my activity with my Fitbit device?
