How to set up a second hand Charge 6?

Hello all.

My daughter found a fitbit on a beach near our house about 4 months ago. We live in a really small town and have tried to reach out to locals as well as posting it as found in a number of Facebook and social media groups.

We have not received any response, so I wanted to reset it and give it to my daughter. Can I just factor reset it or, does anyone have an idea on what to do now?

Thanks in advance.

Hello there @porinha2, welcome to the Fitbit Community!

While it's great that you want to give the Fitbit a good home, forcing a factory reset might damage the device.

I appreciate your efforts to find the original owner. You could try following the instructions here. However, please be aware that there's a chance that the device might not be usable after a forced reset.

You might also keep in mind that the minimum age allowed to wear a regular Fitbit device is 13+. Please learn more about it here.

Hello @porinha2

You will also need a charging cable for the Charge 6, if you don't already have one. Although there are lots of 3rd party options available, it might be best to get an official Fitbit charging cable. The reason for this is that the charging cable is also used to restart the device.

In addition to the link for doing a factory data reset, you might find this page helpful: How to get started with the Charge 6 (<-- click link). There's also a link on that page to the Charge 6 User manual which has lots of useful information.
