I am confused by Plan Intensity (calorie deficit) on Charge 6

Hi,

I just bought a Fitbit and need assistance setting it up.

I am 51, female, height 165 cm, weight 65.5 kilos.

In Fitbit settings> (Select) Nutrition & Weight> (Select) Food

There is two choices

  1. Help me set up a goal
  2. I want to set my own goal

When I select 1 there is four plan intensity options:

  • Easier: Lose 0.25 kg per week : Calorie deficit - 250 cal in / per day
  • Medium: Lose 0.5 kg per week: : Calorie deficit -500 cal in /per day
  • Kinda hard: Lose per 0.75 week: Calorie deficit -750 cal in / per day
  • Harder: Lose 1.0 per week : Calorie deficit - 1000 cal in/per day

This is where I am confused.  As when I chose an easier/medium/kinda hard/harder option the app automatically enters a number in Option 2 - I want to set my own goal.

  • For easier it sets - 1089 to eat per day
  • For medium it sets - 839 to eat every day
  • For kinda hard it sets - 589 to eat every day
  • For harder it sets - 339 to eat every day

These figures are extremely low and not achievable.

If I choose 1 Help me set up a goal do I ignore the number given in 2. I want to set up a goal?

If I should ignore it why does Fitbit change the number for the easier/medium/harder settings.

Thank you.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @Queensland.

Thanks for letting me know about this situation with the plan intensity using your Charge 6.

You're right, in the option 1 (Help me set up a goal) the system will automatically set up the goal by putting the stats, in this case, you need to set it up manually in the option 2 (I want to set up my own goal).

You can check more information here if needed.
