Identical data for last 7 days

I sync'd my Charge 6 today (first time in a while).  I note that the step data for the last 7 days is identical (and is based on today's step count).

Does anyone else have this problem, and is there a fix?  Thanks

Hello @McCaigsTower

There is an issue on the Fitbit side that affects data syncing. The team is aware of the issue and has been working on a fix.

That said, there's an update for the Android Fitbit app, ver 4.26.1, that started rolling out today, 25 Sep 2024. I got the update this morning. At least 1 user reported that the iOS Fitbit app update started rolling out yesterday (24 Sep 2024) Although I haven't seen confirmation, I'm hoping that this update fixes the data syncing issue.

The app updates tend to rollout in waves. If you don't see the update right away, keep checking.

In case you didn't know, Fitbit devices can hold up to 7 days of data. You might consider doing a sync more frequently between your Charge 6 and the Fitbit app. Usually, opening the Fitbit app will start the syncing process.

Thanks for your swift response.  I note that yesterday's step data (which was correct) has now been overwritten with today's data (on my iPad) (as has the previously incorrect data from Thursday to Tuesday inclusive).  Zone minutes appear unchanged.  My iphone app still has yesterday's data intact (and no data for Thursday to Tuesday).

Hello @McCaigsTower

Thank you for your update. Have you had a chance to see if you have an app update available to install?

I updated the app on both iPad and iPhone on Wednesday when I first realised the issue - did a lot of switching things on and off and so on as well.

Today the situation is:

iPad - Thurs to Tue = today's step data; Wed, Thur, Fri correct

iPhone - Thurs to Tue = 0; Wed, Thur, Fri correct (although today's is a bit behind - the phone seems to have difficulty contacting the Fitbit)

Hello @McCaigsTower

Thank you for the additional information. It looks like the syncing issue was resolved after you updated to the latest version of the app.

From other user reports that I've seen, it looks like there's still historical data that hasn't properly synced with the Fitbit app. I'm hoping that it will eventually re-appear.

More strange happenings.

This morning the situation was as described yesterday, that is:

iPad - defaulting to today (Sat 28)'s data for Thu 19 to Tues 24, correct for 25, 26 and 27.

Now this evening the data for Wed 25 and Thur 26 has changed to today's (but yesterday's is correct).

The iphone is as yesterday (missing 19 to 24) correct thereafter.

What is going on?

Hello @McCaigsTower

Since my last response to you, I've seen users reporting that they are still having issues with data syncing between their Fitbits and the app, even after updating to the current 4.26.1 version. I've also seen Moderator posts acknowledging that there is a sync issue and the team is working on fixing the problem.

At this point, I don't think there's any further troubleshooting that we can do as the issue is on the Fitbit side. The fix to the syncing issue can't come soon enough for us all.

Thanks for your response -  I agree there is little we can do until Fitbit or whoever gets its act together.  It is very disappointing to get such a poor service; I am sure there will be enormous reputational damage.  I note that I did get an email update this week (I thought these were meant to be weekly).  I see that there a platform specific forum that may be an appropriate place to post in future.  In the meantime, data is variable - sometimes it is correct, sometimes it seems to default to the current day if step-count is higher.

@RiekoC Thank you for  your help, and for sharing the info.

@McCaigsTower , A warm welcome to the Community! Thank you for your messages and efforts.

Regarding the syncing issue: as our friend RiekoC mentioned. There is a known issue with the V4.26.1 app, but in the next few days, we'll be releasing a new app update for you all to install. Hereby should the syncing issue be solved.

To the data being shown on consecutive days. I'd like to recommend you to follow this thread as all the updates about this, will be posted there. Same data for consecutive days
Also this will help us all keeping the Community in order.
