When I go for a walk the map the Fitbit app records the map and shows correct time, steps, etc., but the map shows a route that goes diagonally through neighborhoods rather than the straight lines and 90 degree turns that were actually walked.
When I switched to MapMyWalk app the mapping is completely accurate- time, steps, and route walked.
Both are using my phone GPS.
