New Charge 6 is not charging

I just wanted purchased a Charge 6 after my Change 2 finally died. I plugged it into the charger and it will charge intermittently but I cannot get it to above 45%. It will charge for a few minutes and then stop! I’m so frustrated I’m ready to return it!

Hi there, @Jeanne52. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I'm sorry to hear that your new Charge 6 is not charging properly. I understand why you're feeling frustrated, I will do my best to help you with this!

There are some issues that affect this, being which power source is used and how clean the contacts are and how well the charger is seated. If you haven't done so yet, please see Why isn't my Fitbit device's battery charging?

Please make sure your Charge 6 is receiving good power source, please find below some tips to best charge Fitbit devices:

  • Use only genuine Fitbit charging cables
  • Avoid USB battery packs
  • Charge within the recommended temperature according to your Fitbit device's Manual 

For best results, don’t leave your device plugged in on the charger longer than overnight.

If the troubleshooting that the Moderator provided doesn't fix the charging issue you're experiencing, please contact Support (<-- click). Complete the prompt in Step 1. Tap Continue in Step 2 (ignore Resources) to get to Step 3, which has the contact options for Support. If Support determines you have a defective device, they will let you know what are your options under warranty.

My charge 6 will not charge or hold a charge.  It showed charge to 93% and 60% but then was dead within and hour or 2. Restarted phone and charged again all night still 1%. Different port and cleaned all connections. No working
