Notifications while sleeping

Will the Charge 6 send a low heart rate notification while you are asleep? My setting is on with a threshold of 50, but I have not received a notification. The heart rate tracker shows extended periods of my heart rate in the 40s while I sleep, so I am wondering if I am doing something wrong.

Hi there, @Chillwalker47. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I will do my best to help you with this!

Yes, your Fitbit Charge 6 can send a low heart rate notification while you are asleep if your heart rate drops below your set threshold for at least 10 minutes. However, if you use Sleep Mode or Do Not Disturb, these notifications may be suppressed, preventing you from being woken up by an alert.

There a few reasons why you may not receive notifications:

Sleep Mode/DND: If Sleep Mode or Do Not Disturb (DND) is active, your Charge 6 will not notify you.
Threshold Settings: Ensure your Fitbit app Low Heart Rate threshold is correctly set to 50 bpm or higher. Click here for more information.
Inactivity Requirement: Your Fitbit device specifically notifies you when your heart rate is below the threshold while you are inactive for at least 10 minutes.
Physical Variability: A sleeping heart rate in the 40s is often normal, especially for athletic individuals, and the device may not register this as an abnormal event requiring a notification.

With the above being said, let's try the following troubleshooting steps:

Disable Sleep Mode/DND: Turn off Do Not Disturb/Sleep mode on your Charge 6 to see if notifications appear.
Verify Settings: Double-check in the Fitbit app under device settings (icon in the top-left) > High & Low Heart Rate to confirm the alert is active.
Check Fit: Ensure your Fitbit is worn snugly for accurate tracking.

If your heart rate drops below 40 bpm frequently, that is generally when your Charge 6 is more likely to register an alert, provided the alert settings are enabled in the Fitbit ap
