A new and irritating bug appeared the last day or so... I set my FitBit Charge 6 Screen Wake = MANUAL... it is all good and well for about 10minutes and then resets to Screen Wake = AUTO.
Tried all things, changed the Face to the default one, reset the FitBit, enabled/disabled sleep mode, and some other settings... each time, reset from Screen Wake Manual to Auto.
I realised, EACH time the Mobile APP syncs, the Screen Wake setting is reverted to "Auto".
FitBit App is latest, I also reset the phone - (not yet gone so far as to fix Google's mess and uninstall/reinstall the FitBit App)
Suggestions - other than to reinstall the app
Charge 6 (Firmware 220.31)
FitBit App (Android, v4.61.1)

I have an Inspire 3 myself too and noticed it turned on auto wake by itself..... tried restarting it to keep the settings but still kept turning on. At this point, I set the DND schedule to turn on at night because it was annoying to see the clock light turn on at night 😕

I'm having multiple issues with my versa 4. I just got it less than 2 months ago. It is not my first one so I am very familiar with it as my other one lasted several years. It had been working fine for weeks but recently it will not turn on with motion only when you hit the button. And yes I have checked multiple times to make sure the setting is correct for this. The other issue is that it will not read my heart rate. The lights do not even come on showing it trying to read it. I have followed all advise I have found, I have cleaned the back, made sure it is fitting properly. I have checked for software updates and my app is current. I have restarted it and nothing has fixed these issues.
At this point I whish to know how to file a warrany claim.

I had to get a new Sense 2 last week and this one will not save my display settings. I have checked that sleep mode is off, i have restarted my watch and gone through all the troubleshooting I have found online and it does not resolve anything. Im thinking of returning the watch because this is ridiculous.

@Jennlo78 If you have your display setting to button only and it is changing to button and wrist on its own, then be patient. There is a widespread issue affecting all four current models. Fitbit is aware of the problem. If you have a different display issue, please share the details.

i am having the same issue with 220.31. I did everything including a factory reset... I don't think that 220.31 was ready for release... I was actually happy with whatever firmware I had before it... I did reach out to customer support, and with the language barrier, I think that they said that they knew already and are working on it.... It is a little annoying when I am exercising.

Congratulations on a very helpful kluge. You are right! The screen wake setting reverts as soon as the app updates... I just ran that process... It is certainly not the solution, but I am sure disgruntled 220.31 users can at least mitigate the problem for now. I can live with Bluetooth off until I need to update my day...
Thanks for putting this out!

I also have this issue and would appreciate a way to completely remove the auto wake option. I would love to bury it deeper so it does not constantly turn on. I originally found this thread looking for a way to do it, and realized I am experiencing the same issue this user reported. PLEASE bury the option deeper! It gets triggered "on" way too often, even before this bug popped up. I loved my Inspire HR and had to upgrade to the Inspire 3 and this part of the device is enough to make me drop fitbit completely after over 5 years using it.

Same issue but I find even when I removed the app it was going back to wake with motion - it’s driving me crazy. Every time I move my wrist it lights up.
reset Fitbit, logged out and in, removed app three times and re added it.
my battery is draining like crazy.

Got my Charge 6 today. Set it up and was puzzled why this was happening. Glad to know it's not just me and they're aware of the bug.

That's good to hear.
What I would also like to know is how this bug could appear without me updating my Fitbit firmware or Fitbit android app?
App version: 4.60
Fitbit Firmware version: 66.200001.214.24

This does t seem to answer the issue.
Mine is still waking up despite turning that function off.

If you turn off the Bluetooth on your phone... the communication with the watch is disconnected. This is not a fix. It is only a way to decrease the annoying problem... it looks like something in the app may be effecting the watch settings.. I only check my watch in the morning and evening.. so this work around is keeping me sane for the time. being.

@kickatree I agree with you. I was happy I figured out how to temporarily stop my Inspire from turning on the screen wake, but it is not a fix. When I want my device to sync, I have to turn on the Bluetooth again, and wait for the Fitbit app to successfully sync again.
I was also just thinking, how is it that so many different devices are affected by this bug. I think the only way is some random app update. I look forward to it being fixed.
