Sleep Tracker Restarting Duration/Score in Middle of Night

So Fitbit has always tracked sleep, including minor wake ups, as one continuous duration/score.  I just got a FitBit Charge 6 and it is no longer staying continuous.  If there is a wake-up in the middle of the night, my Charge 6 is restarting my sleep duration.  i.e. I really sleep 7-8 hrs, but it tells me I slept 5 because I was awake.

Anyone else have this issue or found a fix??

Hello @SaraLclark

Every now & then, my Fitbit will break up my sleep tracking into more than 1 log. I haven't figured why it happens. When it does, I edit my sleep in the Fitbit app to make it one log. If you haven't done this before, here are the steps:

  • Tap on the Sleep tile on the Today page in the Fitbit app
  • Swipe up to get to the sleep logs that you want to fix
  • Take note of your sleep start and end times
  • Tap on one of the logs to delete it. If you don't delete the log, when you try to edit the other log, you'll get a message that this time period is already tracked.
  • Tap on the 3 vertical dots in the upper left & tap on Delete log. Confirm.
  • Tap on the remaining log.
  • Tap on the pencil icon. Update the log with your sleep start & end time in the popup window. Tap Save
  • Tap on the arrows in the upper left to return to the Today page
  • Perform a manual sync

It's been my experience that it takes a bit of time for the sleep data to completely update in the app - about an hour or so. Eventually, you should see the updated sleep score & stages.

I've also had to use this process when there's only 1 sleep log, but it doesn't have the correct start or end time.

Let us know if you would like additional assistance.
