All my sleep data in history is being deleted as I open it up and replaced with ‘No Data’

Sleep score has recently become intermittent on both my charge 5 and the phone app. (google pixel 4A) i.e. some days it is reported and on other days not. This is a recent change - until then it had been rock solid.

Yesterday sleep duration data become intermittent on the phone app i.e. I was able to see sleep tracking data on the phone app initially. It then disappeared i.e. the phone app showed "No Data" but later the data came back.

Today, I can't see any sleep data on my phone at all. This is despite the sleep duration and sleep score being shown on my charge 5. Further, when I go into the sleep tab and scroll back through the days, the complete sleep data with sleep stages will be visible for a second and then disappear with the screen showing no data. Where is sleep data stored?

I've had other issues with the phone app and uninstalled / reinstalled the app a number of times and reset my charge 5 a number of times. Uninstalling the app is a major pain because it has taken significant effort to pair the phone with the charge 5 again.

I think the problem is with the app and there seems to be no way to actually converse with Fitbit to get answers. I now do not rely on the app and just use to monitor my heart rate and steps. If my sleep score appears it’s a bonus

Hey team,

Today I found my device is not tracking my sleep data. And when I check the previous recorded sleep data, they turned into no data.

Could you please help?

Thanks,

My synced sleep data for the past week disappeared after i synced this morning. It is showing zero for each day except for days when i had a nap ( the nap duration remains but night time sleep data totally disappeared). Have tried clearing app cache, logging out and in again but problem still remains. Hoping to get some help for this pls

Mine is doing the same. Very frustrating,  will await an answer.

Exact same problem as described above. Sleep data for last night didn't log, and when scrolling back through the days old sleep data shows for a second, then switches to no sleep data.

Best Answer

Woke up this morning and my Fitbit app (Android, Pixel 6) didn't log any sleep data from my watch (Pixel Watch 2).

When scrolling back through the previous days, my old sleep data shows for a second, then is replaced by "no sleep data".

All apps are up to date. No settings were changed on my end.

Hope this is just a display glitch and my data still exists.

Having a similar issue here.

It doesn’t seem like the sleep data itself wasn’t collected or got deleted.

I think the data is still there, because there are moments when the sleep data comes back — especially after I keep refreshing the app, reinstall it, or log out and back in again. But then it disappears again shortly afterward.

Can the Fitbit team look into this and respond quickly?

Same for me! Sometimes there are data and sometimes it says no data.

I have a charge 5 and sleep was working beautifully recently. Today I was forced to change from a password login to Google account. All sleep data has been missing from then but the heart rate goes back for years. I have tried every step from going online and removing two devices (strangely I only had one device), restarting my watch restarting the app, restarting the phone, deleting the app and getting my watch to forget the device (hidden a strange settings area now instead of where it used to be obvious), and nothing has changed. I can see last night‘s data. When I swipe to the right to see yesterday‘s data it flashes up for a second and then is overwritten with no data. This happens with every swipe to the previous day going back a week where all the data is there for a second and then gone. AI as in Gemini was some help but got caught with a lot of old information thinking that Google still has a dashboard online. They no longer have it dashboard and say you have to use the phone. Unfortunately I may have to contact Google support but that seems a painful experience. I’m going to wait a couple of days and see if by some strange reason the problem gets fixed on a server refresh or something like that. It is clear my data exists on the server

Hi. Sounds like my issue. The only login that I have done is to post on
community and did use the google login rather than password login. My
issues started before that though.

The online dashboard hasn't been available to me for quite some time. I've
been exclusively using the phone app. I have contacted Google support on
this.

Same here all history gets wiped to no data after viewing.

Hi. To me, the fitbit is very limited without the app e.g. I like to look
at my detailed sleep stages through the night. I have logged this issue
with support.

Exactly the same here and also stopped tracking sleep for the first time last night after about a year. Wasted too much time trying everything in the book and gave up. I did notice when I select historical sleep data then tap year then month then week then day, today’s sleep data appears until it syncs then disappears again. Appears the sleep data is still there only not visible. Hoping there will be a software or firmware patch soon.

I have exactly the same experience. Yesterday's data is visible for a second, then it disappears. This has never happened before and I have done everything that Fitbit usually suggests (restarting phones, recreating Bluetooth connection, restarting the watch) and none of it has worked.

My sleep data didn’t download and data for last few days disappeared. I went on to chat and was told there is a problem with some functions that they are trying to resolve but no timeframe

Welcome to the forums @SummerX

Thank you for providing the details regarding your Inspire 3.

Please, try the following steps to make sure your heart rate is working as heart rate reading is key to get your sleep data accurately:

  • Switch the Heart Rate settings from On to Off and manually sync your watch. To switch the heart rate settings on your watch, from the main screen of your watch, swipe left until you see "Settings", next swipe up until you see "Heart Rate" and switch it to Off.
  • Once it's done, manually sync your Inspire 3. To do so, open the Fitbit app, tap on the Account icon, tap on your Inspire 3's image and tap on "Sync Now"
  • Next, switch it from Off to On and manually sync your watch once again.
  • Once it's done, restart your watch once again.
  • Next, confirm that your tracker is snug on your wrist (the lights shouldn't be visible) We also recommend when you're not exercising, wear the tracker just above the wrist bone.

Also, for more detailed information, see What factors can affect my heart-rate reading on my Fitbit device?

I'd suggest you perform the following steps on the Fitbit app:

  • Log out from the Fitbit app.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app and reboot your phone.
  • Open the Fitbit app and log back into your account.
  • Check if the issue is still happening.

The same is happening for me today. Inspire 3. No slerp data last night and old data vanishes when I open it, getting replaced by 'No data."
