Sleep is no longer being recorded

ANSWERED

Last Friday 21st June the fitbit stopped recording sleep data. It did however record 10,828 steps, which it has faithfully recorded every day since, as with miles (4.72) and calories burned (2,692). Basically it seems to have packed up: (although wierdly it did record 329 zone minutes today).

i have tried switching the fitbit - and the phone - off and on again.

i have tried getting the phone to forget the fitbit and then linking it again.

I have tried deleting the app and downloading it again.

Is there something else which is really obvious that I have missed?

I have had the same problem.  It also does not track my zone minutes or my health metrics.  I am just about done with Fitbit.  And they no longer answer by email.  No way to get help.

Hello @Mirkle & @kath777

Do you see a green light on the back of your Charge 6? That's the heart rate sensor, which is used for sleep tracking. When you place your finger across the back of the Charge 6, you should see a green light when you lift your finger.

If you don't see the green light, check and make sure Heart Rate didn't get turned off somehow.

  • Swipe down from the clock face to get to the Settings tile and tap on it
  • Swipe up until you see Heart Rate. Confirm that it's turned on.

If you confirm heart rate is turned on and you still don't see a green light, there might be an issue with your device & time to contact Support (<-- click link). Continue completing the prompts until you get to the page with contact options.

Although it shouldn't be this way, Support doesn't do a great job of responding to emails. I've personally had better response when I called.

Well I don’t want to get too excited but I think this was the simple thing that I’d missed. It seems to have started working again. It recorded my sleep (well some of it at least) and I have a different step figure for today!

It’s definitely back to normal. Who knew the answer could be that simple!

It must have been a Fitbit glitch because it is back too normal.
