I followed all of those steps and still needed to restart my phone. This
latest update (this week) fixed the issue.

Hi there @Sparky287! Welcome to the Fitbit Community!

Thank you for sharing with us the situation you're having with your Charge 6 trying to sync and for your efforts

Have you tried to update the Fitbit app?

I suggest you try to follow these steps:

  1. Force quit the Fitbit app on your phone.
  2. On your phone, go to Settings Bluetooth and turn Bluetooth off and back on.
  3. Open the Fitbit app and try to sync your device.
  4. If your device doesn't sync, restart it.

You can also try to follow the steps described in this article: Why won't my Fitbit device sync?

It was part of a group of updates that I check weekly through Google play. However, with this last security update for my phone.  I find I am having sync issues again.

Hello @Sparky287

Unfortunately, I've seen other users reporting they are still having syncing issues even after updating to the latest app version.

The team is aware that the issue hasn't been resolved by the latest app update and have been working on fixing the problem.

Hi there!

@JeannieProctor thanks for your question. Depending on the operating system your phone has, you can find the latest update this way:

For iPhones:

  • Open the App Store.
  • Tap the My Account button or your photo at the top of the screen.
  • Scroll down to see pending updates and release notes.
  • Tap Update next to an app to update only that app, or tap Update All

For Android phones:

  • Open the Google Play Store app.
  • At the top right, tap the profile icon.
  • Tap Manage apps & device. Manage.
  • Tap the app you want to update. Tip: Apps with an update available are labeled "Update available."
  • Tap Update.

@Sparky287 Are you getting an error message?

@RiekoC thanks for the insight!
