Weekly cardio load?

I read that there might be an update to change cardio load from daily to weekly. If true this can't happen soon enough as today my fitbit is trying to kill me!

Yesterday's target was 93 to141 and I hit 89 so today I've got a target of 124 to141.

If cycling and a weights/ skipping workout can't hit the target,  giving me more is definitely not going to!I really feel like I can't have a rest day!

@Paulus678    The Public Preview is becoming available to non-Premium users with Fitbit app v 4.66.  The Public Preview gives users a weekly cardio load target.  I use iOS, so I don't have as much experience with it as Android users.  I started out with a more reasonable and doable cardio load target.  I haven't seen the schizophrenic behavior in daily target load that I see in the public version.

The current country availability is US, UK, NZ, Australia, Canada, and Singapore.

This is a work in progress, not the final version.  Don't be alarmed about the features that aren't available.  Several available features need work to be comparable to the public app.

Thanks. Hopefully soon. Although I am a premium user at the moment (due to replacing my charge 6 as the battery kept failing) and don't seem to have this public preview feature.

@Paulus678   Tap on your profile picture and see if you have the opportunity to join in the drop down.

Sometimes Premium features require a paid version, not the trial version.  But a different user wrote that they got access as a trial user.

Ah, let me join. Now I have a weekly cardio target and am overreaching with 233% which it says can put me at risk of injury😆not sure about how to add food though so will try it out for a couple of days. Thanks 😀

@Paulus678   I’ll be blunt.  Food logging is a mess in the Public Preview.  I only see my Frequent list.  I can’t find the barcode or quick calorie option.  You have been warned.

Yep realised that as soon as I opened it! Switched back as I use the food logging on a regular basis. Changed cardio from improvement to maintain and load is more attainable now. At least I know that there's a huge difference between a daily load and weekly one so won't get too hung up on it.😃

The daily cardio load targets are crazy.  The underlying calculations are sound.  TRIMP and ACWR are good ways to measure absolute exercise intensity and performance compared to longer term averages.  The problem comes in when they made the interval daily instead of weekly.  It ended up giving you crazy targets, like 1-27 one day and 120 - 180 the next.  If you take rest days, they mess up the math.

So I just started doing my own. I set a personal daily Cardio Load Target for my exercise days (70).  I also set a weekly target (350) that I can achieve with 5 exercise days a week.  Then I created a spreadsheet and track them manually.  I hope the Fitbit software change will make my spreadsheet unnecessary but I'll probably keep it because it tracks a lot of other stuff, too.

@YachatsMike the Public Preview of the new Fitbit app has started rolling out to free members. You should have access to that soon, if you don't already. Then you can see for yourself whether this will work for you.

I just went to the Public Preview.  I like the way it displays Cardio Load much better.  It shows your progress toward the weekly target and lets you chose your own daily goal.  Much better.
