Able to create a custom meal and indicate number of servings

I would really like to be able to build a recipie and then indicate how many servings it makes and how much I ate and see nutritional break down by servings too.  I think it would way easier than trying to enter all ingredients then when its time to eat the leftovers I can just add the recipie serving.

I would like to auto-import a recipe into the food log and have it automatically calculate the nutritional information.  It would allow me to log the proportion of the recipe I ate.  Like a nutritional Pinterest within Fitbit.

I agree as well it would be so nice to be able to list the ingredients and have the website site or app calculate all the nutrition for the recipe.  I have been using myfitnesspal to do exactly that, then return to the fitbit dashboard and make a new food and enter all the nutrient summary given by myfitnesspal.  If down the road I change one thing I can not simply edit the recipe to increase/decrease without going back to myfitnesspal and relogging or editing it on there.

Agree. If I add several ingredients to make one serving of something....I
can add them all in fitbit. But....how often do you do that? Normally, if
I am making a "recipe"....I am making a recipe with several servings. I
have to go to myfitnesspal to do it and then lose significant information
when it transfers to fitbit. I would feel better if I knew they are
working on this functionality.

Please could we have a recipe builder on the app, you can type in all ingredients and then say how much you eat instead of inputting everything 1 at a time. Would save me and my friends so much time

Plus 1 here. I have a Fitbit for 2 days now and this is so obvious it hurts.

Having a meal tab is nice, but having a spot where you can add a recipe and break into portions that you use as a meal would be very helpful. Figuring out what amounts of a recipe goes in to each portion is a real pain to make a meal. I do it now on my Spark People account and it helps a lot.

PLEASE add this feature!

I'm new to using a fitbit (a few days in). I've been impressed with the nutrition tracking functionality, especially the barcode scanning. I cook my own meals as often as possible and I can't believe that I have to use a third-party app/service to get basic recipe & portion calculations into fitbit. It's one thing to add individual ingredients for a simple breakfast of cereal & milk (for example), but I'm not about to do that for a dish with 10 different ingredients. That would take almost as long as the cooking does.

It's September 2017, and this issue has been open since the beginning of last year. This really seems like an obvious and basic component of nutrition tracking. What is going on here?

Thanks.

I have no clue what they're doing for this. I stopped logging my food. I just use my Fitbit to stay active and record my sleeping time. There still must be a hell of a lot of folks out there eating the processed crap, that Fitbit doesn't seem to see the necessity to approve the app for us.

I can't believe you're on the verge of charging for "premium" nutrition reports when I still have to quick add calories from recipes as published or using other recipe builder sites. What a nonsense. Get a grip Fitbit.  Nearly 3 years this thread has been running.

Hi mistachesta, kimiark and jennyjane.

There's a request over here, if you could Vote
for this one, hopefully we could persuade Fitbit we really want this 😉

This would be a great feature to have. Instead of using other apps like spark people!

I definitely think this would be useful. At the minute I'm having to add up all the calories on paper and divide by however many portions. I made chilli today, thinking it would make four portions, but in fact made five, so I've had to recalculate.

I totally agree with this idea and have posted similar ideas myself although probably not worded the same for the home made recipes,

I also feel that a great idea would be to add our own serving sizes in then regular menu like we can add food stuff as with all this health stuff the sizes of portions are different in different countries IE a large pizza will differ therefore so will a slice etc, also cans that was 400g are now either 390g or 410g and if there is and entry in the system like I pie how do we know how big that pie is , 1 slice of bread is how many grams (is it a regular slice or a crust) https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Feature-Suggestions/Food-to-be-able-to-Add-a-custom-serving-size-not...

also to save confusion over salt and sodium please consider revisiting https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Feature-Suggestions/Option-to-use-quot-salt-g-quot-rather-than-quot-...

Yes please! I am really missing this feature from other trackers
I make most of my food in recipes where even simple smoothies I drink every day can have over 10 ingredients (like flax seeds and chia seeds, matcha, berries....) and it would be so nice to make a recipe that I can add every day instead and have the option to then fiddle with exact amounts of each ingredient (or not! I bake a lot too and there's not as much fiddling you can do when you've already made a thing)

I've been adding ingredients separately for most things and for some, doing all the math and adding the whole recipe as a food item, but it's sooo tedious to change anything with the latter, and the former is hard to remember every single ingredient I ate (especially with, for example, my smoothies, which I drink daily but tend to change ingredient amounts often).

This has led, multiple times, to times where I add an ingredient I didn't actually eat or I leave one out that I did eat... and I joined less than two weeks ago

A million times yes to this.  I have to use another food logger without this feature.  If the goal of Fitbit is to promote healthy lifestyles, there is nothing better than eating homemade whole clean foods. To do that, you have to cook.  It is really discouraging to have to do that, whereas it is a great loyalty increaser (because now my recipe is there so I'm more likely to stick with it than enter in a new platform).  So, it really seems like a no brainer, and from a development perspective, it cannot be that complicated.

So I agree with a previous poster, this is a horrendously overdue feature! What's the holdup? I fled MyFitnesspal because the sync was buggy and hard to establish...

I know there is integration with other apps that have that have the recipe builder feature but it would be nice to have it all in ine place. So I would love for fitbit to make this possible I hate having to use to apps I currently use MFP and Fitbit I just want to use fitbit.

I would like to see this upgrade.  On the pc you would just have to add a section for 'number of servings' and make it accept a fraction/decimal when we want to eat it.  Example, create recipe, add ingredients which will include macros, add the quantity number 1 for a 'recipe'.  Then when I eat some I know that it is 1/3 or .33 'serving' of that recipe.

Yes, PLEASE!!!!!!!!  I see that when this was first posted the administrator said it was a great idea. That was January of 2016.  Why hasn't it been done already?
