It is bad enough that a recent change to either the server or the IPad/Android APP, the settings I had for “stride” are not used. I had the setting as “AUTO” that had been working within a 1/4 mile at the end of the day. Since whatever update in the past four days, that daily distance has not been accurate to within 1.5 miles for the same steps. My stride is 30” for walking. When I calculated the stride on one day’s walk, it worked out to 19”.
I set the stride to manual and 30”. On today’s walk the stride worked out to 25.4” (3.50 miles, 8722 steps). The actual distance measured for this route before Google ruined the Google Earth app, is 3.85 miles. Now Google Earth and Google Maps are worthless to me.
Now for more interesting facts. I can open the Fitbit app on my Samsung and make settings which appear to be accepted by the server. If I open the IPad Fitbit app, the settings for daily distance get changed without me doing anything. I have a goal of 5 miles. When I open the IPad Fitbit App, the goal gets changed to 3.11 miles. When I go to the goal and change it from 3.11 miles to 5 miles on the IPad, the Versa 3 is showing my goal is 8.01 miles. I close the IPad app and open the app on my Samsung. When I go to the distance goal, it is showing 8.01 miles. I reset the goal to 5 miles and when the Versa 3 syncs, it shows the goal is back to 5.0 miles. This behavior is repeatable. As such, I cannot review any of my stats on the IPad without it changing setttings.
Google has done their best to ruin this app too. It is also very obvious no, or very limited, software testing has been done and have not incorporated any user feedback.

The units was the first thing I checked along with other settings. When the new app was released and installed on both units, the app reset all settings to default. The other issue was the Android version had one set of defaults and the IPadOS version had another.
