Since Fitbit 3.0 Upgrade Game Golf Drains Battery Life - Tested twice now while playing and from a 100% Charged Ionic (with Fitbit Default Clock face) battery life is only good for 2.5 hours - meaning Iconic is flat dead by 10th to 12 hole. Currently running Game Golf 1.0.9 - the latest version.
Can anything been turned off etc.. or tuned to increase battery life ?

Out of curiosity thought I'd try it again. However I can't get courses to sync up to my Android Pixel 3. Oddly this is the one issue I never personally experienced. I uninstalled/installed the Gamegolf app from my phone and it loaded to the watch. Signed on to my account, picked a couple courses, opened the app on the IONIC, hit the save courses button and - nothing. Tried all suggestions from before to get this to work but no go. Ionic app just sits on the "add golf courses" screen and the Fitbit GameGolf app Settings just says "Downloading Golf Courses". Eventually the app on the watch times out and goes away.
Back to Golf GPS which works just fine for me.

Well, that was a wee bit disappointing! Having waited 3 months for the Game Golf fix it finally arrives and....now the app switches itself off on each hole and you need to start it up again to get a yardage. I had no problem loading my home course but I think I will delete the app and just stick with GolfGPS from now on. Bye bye Game Golf! It was fun whilst it lasted but you're just too unreliable for my fragile golf!

I thought you needed to have cell phone in your pocket for Golf GPS to work without crashing back to the course menu page but that is not the case. Last three times I’ve played I kept it in the cart with no problems.
I put my cellphone in airplane mode to prevent any calls, texts, or notifications. Not sure that is necessary but Golf GPS has been solid!

Hello @Bikerdog, @Windman, @DesertGranddad, @Mullinix, and @Appin! I'm sorry to hear you're still having syncing difficulties after the last update release.
I recommend logging out of the Fitbit app and on log back in, it also has the settings available in Game Golf to log in to the account. Log back in to Fitbit, go for a sync and setup the local course and select "send to tracker". When you add the courses stay on the settings screen open the app and keep track on your watch as it builds your courses.
I'd also recommend trying what @Blasko has shared here. Give this a go and let us know if you have no issues after following the suggestion.
Keep me posted.

Tried the new release out on the week-end and very disappointing - the app keeps exiting so you have to re-select the app, resume round and then select the correct hole. Disappointing software and testing procedures from the developers

Hey there @DesertGranddad and @pb01! Thanks for notifying me that the syncing issue is still happening.
Can you please let me know if by doing what @Blasko suggested here you both are able to sync with no issues?
I'm looking forward to your reply.

Hi MarreFitbit, the synching issue aside, I won’t use Game Golf because it cuts out and needs to be reloaded after every hole. Appin

The reason that the battery drained with GameGolf was that the screen did not turn off while in use. This was done to stop the App crashing when the screen went off. The in the NEW version they have re-enabled the power save for the screen, and the app crashes every time the screen goes to sleep.
We are in the same situation that we were in 7 months ago.
If I worked for GameGolf I would be pretty ashamed of that performance.

Hello @Appin, @strongjaw, and @KH7733! I am sorry to hear that you are going through this situation even after updating Game Golf app.
Due to the issue is still going on for you all, please take a moment to contact the developer by using the link in the app description. This will help to have this issue prioritized on their end as well.
Let me know if there's anything else I may do to assist in the meantime.

Marre,
There seems to be some confusion in the Fitbit community when it comes to the Golf apps.
At present there are two apps, Game Golf and Golf GPS. The names are similar which is probably the source of the confusion.
I found Game Golf to be a train wreck when it was sorta working pre February 2019. I quit trying to make it work in February and changed over to Golf GPS and have had no problems that weren't self induced.
Recently I've made some observation about the wonderful golf app that works and is problem free i.e., Golf GPS.
I thought I needed to keep my cell phone in my pocket when using Golf GPS. This is not the case, I just leave my cell in the golf cart, no problem.
When you boot Golf GPS up, it needs to connect to your cell phone and GPS satellites. That takes a couple of minutes. If your Fitbit device is syncing to your phone, it won't connect until the sync is complete.
If you need to be connected to the rest of the world on the golf course and you change from the Fitbit dashboard on your cell screen to answer a call, text, tweet, email, facebook message, check the radar, etc, etc,..... When you go back to the Facebook dashboard, you will probably experience a sync with your devices which will cause the Golf GPS to crash back to the golf course selection menu. I just keep my cell in the airplane mode unless I really have to connect to the rest of the world.
Just out of curiosity, I checked the reviews for the Game Golf app for the Apple watch. Game Golf seems to be a train wreck over there too. At least they're consistent!

Hello @Blasko! Thanks so much for taking the time to share those details about Golf GPS. I'm glad to hear that this app fits your needs.
We're aware of both apps, Game Golf and Golf GPS, which are totally different form each other.
In case someone else is interested in trying Golf GPS (developed by Pieter Oskam) rather than Game Golf, I'm posting its description below:
The app currently provides distance to front, center and back of green. Also Bunkers, water and doglegs are supported and can be added to your course on smartwatchgolfgps.com
Other features are:
