Game Golf experience

The Microsoft Band 2 had a great app that used the accelerometer and GPS along with Course maps to give you current yards to hole, tracked your swings and such, any news if there will be a golf app for the fitbit Ionic?

Hi

I see the new Game Golf app and have managed to get it on my fitbit ionic but when i try to access it it keeps saying "Add golf courses" etc.

I have already followed the instructions and added my golf course to the Game Golf app settings in fitbit app.

Any thoughts?

After you loaded the courses to the Gamegolf app did you sync them to the Ionic? This button is in

Agreed, you have to sync your Ionic.

Oops. Did you sync the courses to the Ionic? The sync button is in the Gamegolf app on the phone where you added the courses. The Gamegolf app on your Ionic needs to be open before hitting the button.

I’ve given up. I finally got things to load, got the courses to my watch
and felt pretty good, until I tried it out on the course yesterday. At
first it worked fine and then all of a sudden the Ionic kicked the Golf App
off and defaulted back to the watch face. I reopened it and got it working
again and then the same thing occurred. I will say that I really liked it
while it lasted. I had another golf watch with me and I compared the
distances and they were right on which gives me hope. I’ll try again
tomorrow but I’m not too optimistic about it being any better.

I also mentioned the reset issue awhile back, suprised no one else had seen it ( until now ). Uninstalling / reinstalling the app seems to help. I had that problem last week, reinstalled the app before the next round and got through 18 holes yesterday with no issues.

When it happens I've  just been dealing with it and restart the app , it usually continues the round where I left off.

Can you tell me what the update offers beyond what is available at the moment. I have to say I quite like the simplicity of the Game Golf App as it is at the moment!

Just wanted to jump in here to confirm that there is a new version of the Game Golf app ready for download.

This version has a fix for the issue where users were unable to access Game Golf settings.

If you haven't already done so please update the Game Golf app to version 1.0.3.

Thanks Matt for clearing that up. I am very happy with the Game Golf App (and the Ionic) and updates concern me because experience tells me that they sometimes take something that I am very happy with and turn it into something that causes me grief!

Thank you all for your responses. I have updated the app and all seems to be working. I am out on the course tomorrow so will let you know how it went.

Wish me luck. Its the 1st medal of the year 🙂

I got the app installed and set up.  I added the 3 courses that I plan on using, but one of them will not add.  The other two are fine.

Since the one that won't add is the one that I practice on most often, I am wondering what I need to do to get it to add.

I have checked and I have the most recent update of the app.  I have tried to delete and add back the course and get the same result.  Any suggestions?

Unfortunately, it is mostly “trial & error” at this point from my
prepective. I have finally gotten my courses loaded and have now used the
app twice, first time not so good, second time better but glitchy. I think
that I have set my expectations too high having been used to my Garmin and
Bushnell experiences. Maybe I am wrong but, it appears that there is not
an automatic advancement from hole to hole. I had wake the app each time
and manually advance the watch to select the next hole each time. However,
once the hole was found it was pretty accurate for my needs. Takes some
getting used to and it’s time consuming while trying to play golf but it’s
doable. Yesterday, every went sour again app churning away, white screen,
no sync available, etc., as I tried to load the apps update. I finally
called Fitbit “again” and they put me through the paces.

1. Hold the lower right button and the button on the left of the Ionic
down until the Fitbit icon appears then release. 2. unpair my phone in the
phone settings from the Fitbit. 3. Reboot my phone, etc. It finally worked
and the app loaded.

At this time, I am still not sure whether or not it’s the Fitbit or the
app. I am playing a different course today so I’ll test things out again.
I so much want this thing to work.

I have downloaded the most recent update.  My game golf has been working flawlessly for over 5 rounds. With the update the app goes to sleep after finishing hole, and when I turn my wrist to view I have to wake and go through several steps, and then manually advance hole. Can they go back to other version or just fix correctly, and ADD auto hole advance.

I agree...I used the app again today and got so frustrated that I turned it
off after just two holes. It asks me wht course, etc. each time. Just not
worth the worry when your in the middle of a game of golf. I've come to
the conclusion that Fitbit might be the best fitness app, but it sure isn't
gonna be a even a good golf range finder. Probably just gonna, remove the
app at this time.
