After using theYthe Times app it stops opening (i.e. just goes back to the appss list after the splash screen). The only way I found to fix it so far is to uninstall and reinstall.
This has been going on for months, will be nice to fix.

Hi there @MrStory, welcome to the Community Forums. I'm sorry to hear about the inconveniences you've been having with NYT app on your watch.
If you haven't done so yet, I'd recommend to follow the troubleshooting steps provided in the help article: How do I set up and troubleshoot apps on my Fitbit device?
Please note the "Open" option is to open that notification but in your phone and not on the Fitbit device. Since you'll be reading that notification, it'll disappear from the notifications section automatically as your device will think that you don't need to keep being notified by that message.

The next time you re-install the NYT app, remove the "Run in Background" permission. Only have the "internet" permission checked. See if that helps your issue. The news articles are refreshed every time you start it up, so there is no need for it to run in the background.
To refresh your content, pull down from the top of the screen. You must leave the NYTimes app open while your content is updating. Content will also be updated periodically over the course of the day. Launch the NYTimes app from your Android device. Tap the overflow icon (three vertical dots) on the top right corner of your screen and select Log In or Create Account from the drop-down list. Select Log in with email and enter the email address and password associated with your subscription.
