For the 'elderly'? Why not say a simple clock face?

Best Answer

Perhaps Low Vision or Vision Impairment would have been a less offensive. But thanks for creating and a 4.5 is something to be proud of! Congrats

This is right up my alley! I like ones with large displays and the day of the week that I can see. And, yes, I am elderly. 🙂

Sorry for that, I am not a native english speaker.

Somebody would like have all icon in white  instead of some grey, so I create a private link for download, thank you.

As someone who had cataract surgery recently, most watch faces are challenging. I have created a series of 3 faces designed for ease of reading. I personally use CEZ X-Large so I can read the watch at night without my glasses.

All of these watch faces are free to use.

CEZ-Basic

Two alternating displays with 3 rows each - with color and timing options:

CEZ X-Large

3 screens with two rows each, again with color and timing options:

CEZ XXL

5 screens with two rows each, again with color and timing options, using the largest possible characters. This requires time to be split into 2 rows.

@RisoSystems-  that's what is needed for people with poor vision, your other faces are nice too.

Thank you, Guy. I've also just released the first version of a watch face designed for people with severely limited vision, color blindness, or no vision at all. It communicates time and date information on command with a series of vibrations. It's in the gallery as Riso Assist.

@RisoSystems  what a brilliant idea.

Hope you managed to get the vibration to work on a Sense, as it's not good and deteriorates as the battery level falls.

SimpleVibrate may be of use in tuning/testing vibration, if only they would improve it, and make it compatible with the prior watches.

Thank you, Guy.

Unfortunately I don't have access to a Sense. But if you know anyone who does I would appreciate their feedback.

@RisoSystems  - the vibration on the Versa 3 is the same.

@RisoSystems- it works. Tested it on my Sense at 82% and I can feel the vibrations enough to distinguish something, but a blind person may be far more sensitive than me. Simply brilliant idea, well done.

Thank you so much for testing it on a Sense for me. I was pretty certain it would be fine but there's nothing like knowing for sure. Yes the vibrations aren't terribly strong, but when the watch is worn snugly and you are expecting to feel them, I think they come through.

@RisoSystems  - try testing by touching the zone then covering the watch with the palm of your hand which seems more sensitive.

See if you get the response you expect.

The original release had a problem to the extent that it would accumulate touches and play one after the other. I discovered that when someone else tried it out and started touching all over the watch face instead of waiting for it to play.

I've submitted a fix for that which clears out any unfinished touches when it is touched again. That release should be approved in a day or so.

don't listen to the complainers! its is a fact - not an opinion - that your eyesight gets worse as you age so there is nothing wrong with recommending this for the elderly. it's not like you were demeaning old people, or saying that only elderly people have low vision. i actually found this clock face because i searched for ones for "old people". i am going to install it now. thank you for creating it!

I had this clock face on my Sense and loved it until my Fitbit broke.  I bought a Sense2 to replace it, but you cannot use rhis clock face on a Sense2.

I like the large font, especially heart rate, the day of the week displayed with the month and year, and the % of charge on the Home Screen.  I haven’t found any click faces that work as well for me as this one

Any plans for a version that works on the Sense2?

Chuck,

Thank you for your email. Unfortunately the programmer tools for the Sense 2 are quite different. I don't know when or if Fitbit will make it possible for me to do the same watch face on that model.

Hi @Chuckj3456 - If you are unhappy with the watch Fitbit have a 45 day refund policy if bought direct from them or from an authorised shop perhaps, and some stores offer a 14 to 30 day one. Then you can get a Sense instead with the features that are missing on the Sense 2.

As @RisoSystems - says developers aren't able to modify clock faces yet and won't be able to do apps. There is a plan for an SDK but no date has been given so it could be a long wait, it's already more than 4 months since the watches were released.
