Some exercises don't link to Strava

Why is it that runs, walks and cycle rides sync smoothly with Strava, but other exercises like swimming, or "workout" (which I have to use as there isn't an option for kayak/canoe on my ionic) don't?

 

Surely all exercises should sync if you have made the link?

Unfortunately, Fitbit won't sync non-GPS activities to Strava.
