Switching from one FitBit Watch to another

I have an Alta HR and an Adidas Ionic. Both are on my account (the new Ionic is currently downloading to set up. I would like to keep both watches on my account and switch off between wearing them; the smaller Alta when I am going out and want something smaller and feminine, and the Ionic for serious workouts and at home. Do I have to do anything special to switch from one watch to the other or will just taking one off and putting the other on do it? Will they both record to my one data log?

See Can I use more than one Fitbit device with the same account?

I'm not sure if that article includes this, but be sure to sync from one tracker before switching from it to other.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
