Versa 3 will not display Glucomen Day data

I suffer from diabetes 1 and is wearing a sensor from Glucomen Day. The Glucomen Day app now allows me to read my blood sugar from my Iphone 5S. This is a huge progress but still somewhat inconvenient when you a running, cycling or even driving a car. I was therefore really happy to learn that Glucomen Day and Fitbit had joined to allow the blood sugar data to be read from a Fitbit clock face. I have followed the set-up instructions very carefully to make this happen, but the clock face doesnt reveal any data!  Every step has been followed carefully but no data is being transmitted. I have consulted my kind support  from Glucomen Day with no luck. This is extremely frustrating as this was my primary reason to invest in Versa 3. Any help out there??

Interesting. If you look at the Fitbit page describing the clock face  it only mentions the Ionic, Versa, Versa 2 and Versa Lite.

Also, Glucomen Day is not listed as a partner app on the Fitbit website.

I'm struggling to understand where it would get the data to feed the clock face. Perhaps this is still a work in progress and the stream has not yet been linked? I would think it would require a bluetooth connection between the sensor and the Fitbit to show live data.

@SunsetRunner   There is a version for the clock face for the Versa 3/Sense.  See here.  I can find it in the App Gallery on my phone.  @GunnarDk  Can you contact the developer?  Is there a link to contact the developer in the clock face information in the app details?  Did you make contact with GlucoMen on a page like this one?

Hi Patruns - thanks a lot for sharing your thoughts. According to Glucomen Day's website, the Versa 3 should support live glucose data! As I understand,  live data is delivered to Versa 3 from glucoweb.com that is the software that processes data from the Glucomen sensor/app. Glucoweb will however only pass data to a third party with my permission. In order to accomplish this glucoweb generate a code that I punch into the Fitbit app. I have carried through the setup according to the instructions. The clock face is visible on my Versa 3 apparently ready to recieve data.....but no data are transmitted and the reading says "0"

@LZeeW - thanks for your comment.  I was already in contact with my Menarini/Glucomen Day support. But they cant figure out whats going wrong. As this clock face solution involves 3 parties I am afraid that no one will take responsibility. I will try to reach out to the Glucomen clock face developer.

@GunnarDk   I re-read your initial post and have and observation.  You said you are using an iPhone 5s.  Fitbit recently changed the minimum OS requirement for iPhone and it must have iOS 13 or higher to run the current version of the Fitbit app.  When users post about app and clock face issues, a moderator will always tell the user to make sure they have the current version of the Fitbit app on their phone.  Do you have a friend with a newer iPhone (6s or newer) who will let you use their phone to see if this is causing the problem?

There is another reason for you to upgrade your phone.  Apple stopped all support for the 5s.  This means there are no more security updates for you.

You may be right, and I had the suspicion myself, but everything else works seamless...and I am really reluctant to make the investment. Maybe I can try it out as you suggest. BTW I have contacted Menarini and is waiting for their reply. Thanks for your efforts I will update the thread if I find a solution.

@GunnarDk   A friend with a compatible Android phone needs to support Android 8.0 or higher to run the current Fitbit app.

Good luck.

Problem solved! It appears that running the GlucomenDay clock face on my versa 3 involves a pretty large software ecosystem involving  bluetooth connections as well as web connections sharing data. The ecosystem involves the GlucomenDay sensor (producing raw data), a GlucomenDay app, a software called Glucologweb and a GlucoLogT3 app and the FitBit app! The transmission of data require that passwords are generated by Glucologweb and passed to the parties. I missed to involve the Glucolog app. Once this was downloaded and added, the loop was closed and data appeared on my watch! This is not described sufficiently anywhere.

@GunnarDk   I'm glad that you finally got it to work.  From my perspective, the Glucomen Day is a third party clock face.  It is up to Menarini to provide all of the instructions, since they developed the clock face.

I am also moving this whole thread to the Fitbit App Gallery forum.  It is a better fit than the Versa 3 forum.  There are two different clock faces for different devices.  It might help another user with a different device.
