ANSWERED

What does it mean to be a Jogger, Hill Runner, or 5K Racer anyway?
Your rank is an indication of your involvement in the Fitbit Community. If you continually visit the forums, your rank will change to reflect the time you've spent here. By posting and contributing to discussions, you may progress even further through the rank structure and unlock additional account priveleges.

Your Rank title is displayed beneath your profile picture and Community name.

What determines my rank?

Post count is not the only factor that is included in the rank formula--that would be too simple! In addition to creating content for the Community, you get points when your answers are voted up or accepted as solutions. Voting for other helpful posts and being the first to respond to other member's questions can bring you even closer to achieving your next rank.

How can I rank up?

The easiest way to rank up is to visit often and add value where you can. The rank structure was developed to compliment the wide variety of ways you can engage with your fellow Fitbitters. As a community member, you can vote for the posts you find helpful, post new questions and then identify and approve the solution that helped you most (these are called Accepted Solutions). You can also comment on feature suggestions and start new discussions around topics of interest. It's a combination of these activities that will help you to achieve the next rank.

Hint: Scroll to the bottom of any community board and click through to posts in the Unanswered Topics section to help new members, rack up more points, and earn yourself a place on the Most Helpful Authors leaderboard!

I skipped a rank, is this normal?
Ranking formulas are calculated using Boolean logic. Your journey through the rank system might not be as straightforward as Jogger > Recovery Runner > Base Runner. You could actually skip from Jogger all the way to Strider if the conditions were right. For example, if you started off taking your First Steps and then posted 10 times, but didn’t receive any votes on those 10 posts until 100 days later, by which time you had posted 20 more times and received 5 Accepted Solutions, you might jump ahead to becoming a Strider even though you’d have skipped a good 3 ranks in the process.

I don't identify as a runner at all, can I opt out or customize my rank title?

Community ranks are designed as a lighthearted way to encourage engagement and offer other members a little extra insight into your participation here. They are not linked to any individual preference or setting, and it's not possible to opt-out.

Community ranks and reputation

While ranks can give you a general understanding of how much expertise another member has and how engaged they are in the community, the best way to get to know fellow community members is by striking up a conversation with them! You can also learn more about the other members here by visiting their profile page (to view another member's profile page, click on their community username).

Thanx for calling a Jogger, and I think I am a bit more than that in the last 3 months atleast when I did a 100 day 1050km every day (my Fitbit stopped working for 2-3 weeks) where my data was not uploaded. I did an event each scoring 10k/51.17m, 21.2/1:53, and 2 hr 23.32 k each and was under 8% of the total runners! any way I am fine and hope to climb the ladder soon.

Our activities outside the forums don't have influence on the forum ranks though. Cat Embarassed

I agree with @WendyB. . I'm 77 shortly and the mental stimulation and the feeling when a user has posted that you/we have helped and the positive outcomes are immense and of course the reverse..

Last week I needed to upgrade my Android phone and it wasn't on Fitbit's list of compatible phones and @gardamund from Norway had a working solution for the Sony Xperia Z5 and they posted the Android software level of 6.0.1 and it's build level;. I'm in Australia and I upgraded successfully. My Telco, the largest in Australia also has a reliable solution for it's users.

It is now a full 3 days and I have't missed a sync or notification, and fast.... My Sony Z1 was not that reliable. So the only change was the latest Android from Sony, the Xperia XP.

Keep fostering the Forums, a wonderful contribution here.

I can't believe this, how about and answer/solution to the problem.  Even if it's "your tracker only lasts 6 months to a year", I can take it.  (But won't spend another $100 for it.)  Will not consider another Fit Bit product unless satisfactory resolve comes to this, the flowery marketing hyp doesn't fix the problem.  Let's get cliche, 'in a society that needs immediate results', fit bit doen't work.

@SunsetRunner Your complaint will not be seen here. You posted on a thread about Ranks.

Good luck to you!

The ranks are nice and a way to encourage involvement, amazing how I went from "first step" to "jogger" in one message. I always enjoyed the badges and displays when I made goals, but the frustration of trying to figure out how to get my tracker 'on track' again has far out weighed its usefulness.

Thanks, for confirming, that's what I thought, no offense but this is what I am talking about. If anyone at Fit Bit monitors these things they can respond to me directly. My past experience, was more time consuming than I want to experience with them again. Fit Bit needs to get their stuff together, I'm taking my business elsewhere.

As far as being specific, read any of the other comments about any problem, unresolved, I don't need to rehash the same.

That's great. Give yourself a big pat on the back! My only cardio this
week is running late. Heavy yardwork doesn't count for distance but I
still know I'm moving! Happy Trails
