About: Community Ranks

ANSWERED

What does it mean to be a Jogger, Hill Runner, or 5K Racer anyway?
Your rank is an indication of your involvement in the Fitbit Community. If you continually visit the forums, your rank will change to reflect the time you've spent here. By posting and contributing to discussions, you may progress even further through the rank structure and unlock additional account priveleges.

Your Rank title is displayed beneath your profile picture and Community name.

What determines my rank?

Post count is not the only factor that is included in the rank formula--that would be too simple! In addition to creating content for the Community, you get points when your answers are voted up or accepted as solutions. Voting for other helpful posts and being the first to respond to other member's questions can bring you even closer to achieving your next rank.

How can I rank up?

The easiest way to rank up is to visit often and add value where you can. The rank structure was developed to compliment the wide variety of ways you can engage with your fellow Fitbitters. As a community member, you can vote for the posts you find helpful, post new questions and then identify and approve the solution that helped you most (these are called Accepted Solutions). You can also comment on feature suggestions and start new discussions around topics of interest. It's a combination of these activities that will help you to achieve the next rank.

Hint: Scroll to the bottom of any community board and click through to posts in the Unanswered Topics section to help new members, rack up more points, and earn yourself a place on the Most Helpful Authors leaderboard!

I skipped a rank, is this normal?
Ranking formulas are calculated using Boolean logic. Your journey through the rank system might not be as straightforward as Jogger > Recovery Runner > Base Runner. You could actually skip from Jogger all the way to Strider if the conditions were right. For example, if you started off taking your First Steps and then posted 10 times, but didn’t receive any votes on those 10 posts until 100 days later, by which time you had posted 20 more times and received 5 Accepted Solutions, you might jump ahead to becoming a Strider even though you’d have skipped a good 3 ranks in the process.

I don't identify as a runner at all, can I opt out or customize my rank title?

Community ranks are designed as a lighthearted way to encourage engagement and offer other members a little extra insight into your participation here. They are not linked to any individual preference or setting, and it's not possible to opt-out.

Community ranks and reputation

While ranks can give you a general understanding of how much expertise another member has and how engaged they are in the community, the best way to get to know fellow community members is by striking up a conversation with them! You can also learn more about the other members here by visiting their profile page (to view another member's profile page, click on their community username).

It's possible to even skip forum ranks,.. when receiving more votes,.. from the awesome community. Even for posts which been posted a longer time ago.

May not be on the forums for let's say a week, and your rank may have increased. Just like magic thanks to the most epic community. Heart

Hey Staff!

I'm being funny here BUT I think there should be a tile where we give Ourselves awards and can post a picture if we want. Things like "I recognise my face again"  "My jeans fit without a bulge above the wasteband"

"My spouse noticed!"  " A friend or aquaintance asked if I lost weight"  etc etc.  hahaheehee  .........

Feel free to add your suggestion to the subforum: Feature Requests where users can vote, add comments and possibly being integrated by Fitbit when there's enough interest.

How to change the time? Please, it is not automatic when flying into another time zone. Thanks.

Best Answer

@miso Go to the dashboard and under settings scroll down until you see time zone and change it there. It will need to sync before it takes place.

It can also be done on the phine under settings as well

It would be good if Fitbit recognized there are other ways to be fit and exercise besides walking and running.

Ha ha hahaha-Truly tickles me to hear the Mae WEST quote. My dad used to quote her lines: To the just arrived cowboy: "Is that a pistol in your pocket or are ya just glad to see me?" Ha ha hahaha 😂

I'm learning also. I get most of my steps from using a recumbent bike. My arthritis history I thought was all I could do, but. now I find myself  signed up the do the"Fight For Air Climb put on by the American Lung Association, 4 building climb and 1,796 steps on April 10th.
