Does Fitbit comply with the CCPA?

The CCPA requires, in part:

The CCPA grants new rights to California consumers

The right to know what personal information is collected, used, shared or sold, both as to the
categories and specific pieces of personal information;

The right to delete personal information held by businesses and by extension, a business’s service
provider

I don't see anything in the updated privacy policy that addresses these two rights.

Don't know but with Fitbit being a California based company I think they would be aware of this.

A couple of facts

  • The privacy statement for years has stated that they do not sell personal data.Screenshot_20200117-220957_Chrome.jpg
  • We now know what personal data they sell. Nothing!

  • They have stated that, per agreement with Google they will not have access to users personal data. They will only have metadata.
  • Due to changes, I think in Europe for more than a year you have had complete access to your data that Fitbit has on you.

  • For months you have been able to ask Fitbit to delete your data. You can do this straight from the app

Looks like Fitbit for months have been complying.

I've moved your post out of the unrelated hardware support
