6-months free Premium issue

In the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic Fitbit offered free access to Fitbit Premium to all Fitbit users. A great and generous offfwr I really appreciated. Now a 6-months free trial Premium is offered when buying a new Fitbit Sense, but only for new Premium users. I guess this rules out a majority of current Fitbit owners who accepted the Covid-19 pandemic offer earlier this year. Is my assumption correct or will this be now issue?

I have the same problem. Bought the Sense today but my trial is expiring on the 11th of December. That is misguiding your clients because I would have chosen the fitbit versa 3 if I knew that.

I bought a Sense recently (only arrived in Portugal in the end of October...), and I had a Premium trial ending 2020.10.30 (simple coincidence...)

As suggested here, I cancelled the running trial period (did it 28/October), and waited a few days after the end of the trial (until today; in fact; I forgot to do it earlier).

Then went to the app (Android), removed the Sense connection and reconnected the device.

Next, still in the app, I went to Premium Subscription and I had only a chance to subscribe in the monthly plan (the most expensive), with no visible notice to the 6 month free period offered with the Sense.

I continued with the process and in the next step I got the 6 month (183 days, more exactly) offer, with billing starting 2021.05.21 with an option to cancel any kind of billing if I'll cancel the subscription until 2021.05.10

By that date I guess I'll cancel the subscription, in order to be able to subscribe the yearly plan which is a lot cheaper than the monthly.

Thanks to you all for the tips and advices in this thread.

Ok so my 3 month trial that I got with my charge 4 expired on 9/12 and I cancelled the subscription on Google Play but I haven't had any prompts to claim the 6 month free trial that came with my sense

Am i missing something or doing something wrong ?

Looks like only a 90 day free trial is available for me. Will give it a try.

I’m in UK. I went for COVID trial with my Charge 3, this expired a few months ago. (And didn’t state it will invalidate any future trial offers)

I bought Sense as a Christmas present for myself. (And the Premium trial does not state that prior trials will invalidate this offer). On completing the Sense setup. No premium trial.

I looked at the Amazon advert and it does have a tiny “* new Premium users only”. However, accepting their COVID offer does not, in my mind, make me a Premium user. I’ve never paid for it before.

ive not contacted customer services yet (Christmas Day and they are closed) but it does appear once you’ve trialled once, that’s it. Which is certainly missleading. Making an offer to make me shell out £299 and you only find it’s a lie once you have setup everything!

Worked exactly this way for me.   I had used Premium before as a trial.  I had cancelled it.  Just go through signing up for 9.99 a month in the app and on the next screen you will see the 6 months free, then it starts billing.

Note, somewhere I saw you need to sign up for Premium within 21 days of activating the sense.   I don't know if this is true, but in my case I activated within that window.  Good luck!

@Drew_Watkinson  Did you get the 6 month for free? Nothing is coming up for me yet. I did as you, and now mixed info from two diff Fitbit people I have emailed. I may need to call

update! Never mind. I was able to follow through to end of accepting subscription and got my free 6 months!

@RonaldM  It may have changed since this time frame. However, I had paid monthly for the premium subscription. I cancelled once I bought the sense. And struggled to figure this out myself seeing others being told to cancel the. Wait a few days and then check. So my mistake was thinking it would say 6 months as an option. But it doesn’t. You have to pick what you would want after the offer is over, then if you have IOS not sure about how android does it, you will have to accept through Apple store and side click(lock button twice)  to approve. It will give all the info that your subscribing to, including trial amount and when it ends and then be charged date.

So the premium membership trial doesn't apply if I had to purchase a new sense because the other one became defective after 9 months

@ShannonGarr Depending where you live, warranty is 12 or 24 Months. You "had to purchase a new sense because the other one became defective after 9 months"?

How long after the purchase and connection of new device does the free trial need to be started? I thought I was starting 6 month trial but my trial ends in 3 months.  Will I be able to start my 6 month trial after the 3 months?  If not, how can I extend the 3 month trial to end in 6 months?  I canceled it as soon as I realized it was only for 3 months thinking I would get the 6 month offer again.  Not so.

I purchased it brand new and yes it became defective after only having it 9
months!! And the warranty was honored because I purchased it through a
business that wasn't considered an authorized dealer!! Which is really
upsetting 😡

I just purchased this sense. I have no idea about any COVID-19 stuff, not having the sense then I didn’t take advantage of any offers. Can anyone tell me how to get my 6 months free premium service. Thanks 🤔 Wendy WDorch

I let it go when it took setting your alarm off the phone app. Too much to do it on the watch. I have different start time which the app made easier for me. Oh well!
