Hi. Even though I’m wearing my Fitbit to bed it’s not tracking my Breathing Rate. Last night I slept over 7 hours. Any suggestions? Thanks!

With all the due respect, I  think that in nearly one year of use (of the sense alone), all the "Wear your device for at least 1 full day (during the day and to sleep at night.etc" as suggestion, it's rather offensive, especially because in my post I was quite specific about me wearing it at night. The fact that yesterday a br was recorded, it makes me think that the update of the app maybe fixed the issue. The answer from Fitbit to my post should have been, please check it again tomorrow and let us know if you have another reading but most importantly if you hadn't.

@SilviaFitbit as you can see, it was random. Why has it to be so difficult to fix it? Are fixing it on the go or have you got a test environment? If two days ago it worked why Fitbit cannot checks the logs, rather than giving customers always the same suggestions?

Thank you, I believe it would be a bit dull to complain about some features that wouldn't work if the Fitbit is not on my wrist. I have been using it for years. The point is that it only worked for one night, and this morning it has not again. Why has it to be so difficult to fix something that obviously is working for most customers? Fitbit has no access to logs? Why was it working only on Thursdays with the app left opened in the background at night?

Hi Matty,

I wear my Sense every night while sleeping and I never have my phone powered on at night, so it doesn't matter if you leave the app opened in the background or not while you're sleeping.

When I wake up, I power on my phone and wait a few minutes (at least 5 minute or more) and then open the FitBit app to check my results. Sometimes everything synchronizes up right away and sometimes it still takes several more minutes especially for the SpO2 values that seem to take a long time.

I still don't always get the Breathing Rate results every night. For example, I got every night except Thursday for this week. It's been better the last couple of weeks than it has been for months before, but it's still not 100% consistent every night.

I'd say all the problems are on Fitbit's server side systems not always calculating the data properly. Or maybe there's still bugs in the software running on the Fitbit device itself that isn't always gathering the information properly or sending it back to Fitbit's servers properly. Who knows? But I agree that they should have logs for all that in the Fitbit device itself and on their servers to understand where the blockage is happening.

They really should put effort on fixing this up.

@Oakmario I agree. However I was just explaining what happened in my case. If u see my previous posts I described that only when I was leaving the app open in the background at night the BR would appear, but only on Tuesdays. Every other days with the app opened, br didn't appear. Monday night with app off, Tuesday won't have any BR. It's definitely a server issue, and probably link to specific models of sense etc (My one e.g. is a FB512). That would explain why changing my sense to another sense in March didn't fix the problem. It would be insteresting to know if they are all FB512s or I got it right.

Any news? For some reason most of my posts have been removed. I simply wrote that it will be nearly one year of use, and I had only 50 at max BR records. But yet Fitbit ppl ask me if I am wearing my Fitbit in bed.

@SilviaFitbit again not working, just one record last week on Thursday.

@Oakmario hello! Are u still having an issue with the breathing rate data? My ones are not appearing anymore 😞

All functions of Heath Metrics work except for the breathing one. Help?

I reported the same problem when I upgraded to Sense and got given useless recommendations that obviously any experienced FitBit user would have tried already. I gave up nagging but I am very disappointed that the Sense has been useless for most Health Metrics.

Breathing rate is the only area not registering after sleep -- how come?  How do I fix this issue?

Breathing rate and HRV not registering. The rest records. What do you suggest?

I am also suddenly having issues with breathing rate not working after a month of using a charge 5. I think either the physical sensor degrades after a month or the algorithm cannot handle users with more than a month of data.

I had a charge 4 for for a year and a half and it died. I decided to give Fitbit another chance and got the sense 2 last week. It is never tracked my breaths at night. I have tried adjusting the strap, moving my location up and down my arm with no joy. I’ve reset the sense to still no data. Very disappointed.
